My First ...

Day two back on her schedule is off to a good start. Thank goodness!
She shreaked again today. It was really funny and too bad I have no idea what I did to get that out of her.
Okay – not to gross anyone out, but I had my first “poopy” clothing experience. I picked her up to go change her this afternoon and it seemed that she was a little warm and mushy all over her backside. I got her upstairs and opened up the diaper expecting a poopy diaper, but not what was there. There was so much poop in her diaper that you could see it through the diaper itself. It was EVERYWHERE!! OMG. I ended up changing her clothes and just wiping her entire body down. She will definetly get a bath tonight.

Back to the Schedule

Today is pretty good. She’s back onto her wake, eat, play and sleep schedule – or at last she has been for most of the day. She was so tired from not sleeping yesterday that it was really easy to put her down at 830am for her first nap of the day. She slept through til about 1115am. I was really happy to let her sleep. I was slightly sad to wake her to feed her, but knew she had to eat. Consequently, she’s slept really well on/off all day today.

One neat thing – she grasped the toys really well today. It’s fun to watch her grow and develop new abilities.

I Give Up

Today was the day of no sleep – literally. She woke up at 7am to eat and just didn’t want to sleep all day. I took a nap with her on my stomach about 1030 (and luckily she slept with me). Then she took a nap for about 30 minutes when I went for a walk outdoors. I guess the ride in the stroller helped her sleep some.

She’s doing much better at holding her head straight up when she’s on her belly. She’s now able to follow the toys in her vision by moving her eyes and her head. It is just so amazing how much she changes every day.

Please Sleep Please

She is totally off schedule now. She didn’t take her morning nap, but took two naps back to back. I’m not sure how this happened… but I’m hoping she’ll get back to normal tomorrow.
She is making strides with grabbing at objects. Different things capture her attention and she will play with her toys more. I was able to distract her and keep her from fussing for about 15 minutes by playing with her car seat toy at the doctor’s office today – that was new.

Please Sleep

Today was interesting. Reagan didn’t really sleep much during the day. We got up on schedule – at 6:30am – and passed by the normal nap time for play. She wouldn’t go down. When I tried to put her down for a nap, she got upset. It was weird. She cooed and played all day – was very happy. I got tired about 2pm from literally playing all day and put her in her bouncy seat and laid down on the couch for a cat nap. Jim came in about 2:45 pm and said that she had cooed at the TV while I was sleeping. Around 3pm she started to get fussy… and finally fell asleep.

How do they know?

I went for a walk with Pam today and had one heck of a workout. Pam suggested I put the toy that was hanging on her car seat on her lap. When she moved it, Reagan just grabbed on. I guess she’s getting to that stage where she’s is more able to grab onto things. She seems a lot more interested in textures, shapes and brighter colors. How cool!
On a side note – I was really stressed and upset today and Reagan knew it. She was upset too. I don’t know how she knew except the entire time I was “venting” she was crying. When I stopped, she did too. How amazing is that?

Staring

Sunday morning, I put Reagan under the gym and lowered two of the toys – the monkey and the giraffe. She locked completely on to the monkey and wouldn’t stop staring at it. She started hitting it after a few minutes. Then last night, Reagan was mesmerized by my left hand. I am really not sure why other than she is starting to focus in on more things and really study them. It was funny. I could wiggle my fingers and she’d smile and never lose her lock on my hand. After a few minutes, she started batting at my hand with her right hand and eventually grabbed onto my pinky. What a grip!
