Little Feet - Little Arches

I know this sounds stupid, but I am starting to see little arches form on the bottom of Reagan's feet. I was looking at them today and realized there was a curve to the bottom of her chubby little feet. How cute. It's amazing isn't it!? She is so tiny. It is just an incredible experience watching her grow every day.

Thanksgiving on Saturday

Today we went to Papa Carman's for Thanksgiving dinner. Reagan did great. She warmed up to everyone fairly fast and did just fine. I think she REALLY like Aunt Rhonda. Although, I'm not sure if there is anyone who doesn't like Aunt Rhonda.

She definelty took to Papa Carman. She played with him, danced with him and even played peek-a-boo. She also developed a fondness for Tyler, one of Rhonda's boys. She tried to help him play Warcraft on his computer a few times. He was very patient with her. You can tell he's been around little kids.

We stayed late enough that she slept on the way home. But as soon as we got home, she wanted to play. She got down on the floor and made her way over to her little piano. (I think it's her favorite toy). She loves to play the music and dance to it. When the music stops, she slaps the keys to get it going again.

Twist and shout

I watched Reagan twist her body for the first time today. She was playing with Papa Carman and instead of bouncing she started twisting. I couldn't believe it. When did she learn how to do it?

Big day of stuff

Okay, she's done some pretty neat things today.

First of all, I think she's a little dare devil. I watched her several times trying to take a step or two without holding on. The most ccrazy one was when she launched herself from the coffee table to the couch taking two steps in the process. She landed and laughed all at the same time. How cute!

Then tonight during her bath, she thought bobbing for letters would be fun. By the time I figured out what she was doing, she had already stuck her face into the suds and come back up soapy! Oh my. She smiled. It didn't phase her one bit.

Oh and her teeth - more are coming in. She not only has the front four coming in, but her gums are very thick on the sides - both top and bottom. She is also starting to cut another tooth in the top right part of her mouth. Wow.

One last thing... over the last few weeks, she's tried to go to one nap. Today she did it. Ugh. I think she's right on the edge of only needing one nap per day. Wow. Can you believe it?

Early Morning

This morning came early dispite the fact that we all slept fairly well. Reagan woke up very happy and ready to go. I let her play in her crib for a little bit before I went to get her. When I showed up, she still wasn't ready to get out of the crib. She was still playing - so I waited.

So now I am just watching her play. She is very independent in her play time. She let's me know when she wants someone around - she just turns around. If not, she plays with her back to the crowd. Intersting huh?

Before I left her to play alone, we were working with the shape sorter. I was surprised to find that she knew where the circle, square and the 4-pointed shape went. Wow. She was able to put all the rest in except the triangle with me showing her where they went. Wow!

Now she's hanging out with her toys trying to put together her balls.

Ball

She definetly knows what "Ball" is in sign language. We were sitting at the table after Thanksgiving dinner and Zach brought Reagan a couple of balls. When she saw them, she reached and then made the sign. She didn't just do it once, she did it multiple times while they were playing. Wow.

Bunny in the classroom

This morning I dropped Reagan off at LRS and there was a bunny in her classroom. Bev and Amy were being so quiet about it. THey said "she hasn't seen it yet". That got me curious. When I realized there was a pet in the class I wanted my camera (of course).

Once Reagan saw it, she got very very curious. She pointed and shrieked at it. She then started to crawl after it. She had absolutly no fear. The poor bunny (Elvis) was hanging out under the baby swings. Reagan poked her little head under them and tried to pet him. She actually got her index finger on his nose once or twice. I'm not sure, but it ran the other direction.

She cornered it in an Exersaucer next to the dryer. She was talking the whole time. Poor bunny. Reagan just wanted to play. So darn cute.

A Bunny

With Big Pointy Teeth (in a monty python-esque voice)

I got to LRS this morning with Reagan and there was a bunny in her classroom. It was so cute. It's name was Elvis and apparently it is the 2year old's class pet.

As soon as Reagan spied it, she hauled butt after him. She is such a curious little thing and completely fearless. It was hiding under one of the baby swings and she dove in after him. She actually was able to pet him once or twice. She at least pointed at the fur (and touched him).

Elvis spooked and ran into the Exersaucer. Uh Oh. That was the last place he should have gone because Reagan went in after him. ha ha! She cornered the poor bunny and tried to play with him. I did get a picture of her on my cell phone. I hope they have Elvis in there again so I can get some good pictures of her with him.

Day from Heck

Ok, today was just one of those days that everyone has. But today was my day. Nothing went right in the morning. It took me 2 hours to get out of the house. When I got to LRS with Reagan, some jerk pulled his car out (right next to me) while I was trying to get Reagan out of the carseat. When I asked him to wait, he nastily said "oh you'll be fine", reved his little car and just kept going. UGH! (yes i reported him to Kyleen).

I got to work and the whole team got canned. Ugh again.

Tonight I got home and I just couldn't be grumpy. I got fussed at because I was grumpy. Ugh again.

Thank goodness for my parents once again. They came over. All I needed was an outlet to get rid of my stress - I needed a workout. They came over so I could go to the basement. Let me tell you - it was an awesome workout. My stress level came down VERY quickly. Thank goodness.

I'm hoping Wednesday is mucho bettero!

Pushin a toy

For those of you that remember the dog video "pushin a rock" from funniest home videos, you might find this funny. For some reason, Reagan LOVES to push her toys around. She'll play with them for a little bit and then just push them around the floor. Every time she does this I can hear in my head "pushin' a rock, pushin' a rock". Why does she do that?

Hi There! and Thank you

She says "Hi Dere and Thank you" very well. Jim told me that Amy asked him if Reagan was talking... saying "Hi there?" and "Thank you" or if we had been working with her at all. He said "thank you" but not purposefully just by playing games with her.

Apparently she was sying "Hi dere" as people walked by today and was also saying Thank you. Woo hoo.

So tonight while I was giving her a bath, I tried to get her to say it. AND SHE DID!!!! I about fell off the stool. I said "hey Reagan, Hi There". She just repeated it right back to me. Holy Cow!

Almost there...

She's almost there. She is just about ready to walk. She can stand on her own consciencely now. She will let go of things with determination and then will go back to using her hands to just steady herself. Tonight, Jordan came upstairs to play with her while she was in the bath. Reagan, of course, stood up to see her and to point at her. :) She just stood there. Not hanging on at all. Oh yea, and then she sat right back down without holding on. (uh oh).

Then tonight, when she was crawling around, she grabbed on to the magazine rack and pulled herself up and then let go again. Wow.

I think we're in trouble folks.

Camera for pets

I think this would be hilarious to do. Too bad my dogs sit in a crate all day or I'd get them one.

Temper tantrums - now normal

Apparently Reagan's temper tantrums are normal activities at 12 months. I got this tip from Parents.com today. How nice - she is an earlier achiever.

At 12 months - "You have also reached the age of temper tantrums. Your baby may be cooperative one minute and downright negative five minutes later."

Earplugs rock

I have to say - for any moms (new or not) - you should seriously invest in a good set of earplugs. I have found not only are they wonderful on my nights off duty, but they are also great for any mid-day nap that I need to take. I used mine several times over the weekend.

Ahhh silence.
