Baby Shower and Tea

Today, Emily and I threw a baby shower for her sister-in-law, Ashley. It was a lot of fun. We spend a few weeks getting all the details together and really had a lot of fun working on it together. Since most of my friends had their kids when I wasn't near them, I never got the experience of throwing a shower for any of them. I missed out on that. So when Emily told me she was pregnant, I invited myself to help her do a shower. :)

On the same day, Reagan was invited to a little girls 4th birthday party. It was a tea party. The best part was that because I was already busy, Jim had to take her. he heeee. He actually said it was really cute. The woman that owned the business and led the party did a great job. From the decoration, the treats and the crafts, it was well put together.

Reagan wasn't really into the Tea Party aspect of it, but she had a good time. She got a huge goody bag full of dress up stuff and toys. They even did a picture thank you card/frame to take home. What a great idea!

first sugar induced stomach ache

Reagan went to a princess tea party today. It was a birthday party for one of the girls at school. Jim said it was actually pretty neat. The woman that ran this business had come up this idea and ran these type of parries as her business. She brings the food, the dress up stuff, the favors, and everything else you'd need. The treats were all sugar. Awesome.

When I got dinner set up for me and the girls, Reagan complained that her stomach. She curled up om the couch and didn't say much. I could tell she was "done ". Poor thing?????

Third day, third shot

Today, Maddy had her third shot. She cried for 8 minutes straight. It just broke my heart. She snuggled up on me and eventually fell asleep. It was so hard watching it. We did find out that both of her ears are still not well after two shots. So if she's not better, we will be going to see the ENT. :( ALready? Really? My poor little girl.

Sitting up

She is rocking the sitting up thing. She has gotten so strong. She's able to play and do so much more now. I love sitting her up in front of her mobiles and watch her grab for them.

2nd shot

Maddy went back to the doctor today for her second shot. Apparently the first shot was working, but she still wasn't quite clear. Bummer. Needless to say, she was not happy. Jim actually took her today, so she got to snuggle on him. I hope she gets a good night sleep tonight.

Green beans

Tonight we tried green beans. Yum. She actually liked those much better than the sweet potatoes. They stayed in her mouth. :)

Fine motor skills rockin'

Maddy is really getting her pincher grab down. The doctor commented on it at her appointment today, but we told her that she'd been able to grab small things for a while now. She easily picks up the pendants on my necklaces. Love it! My little girl is getting big.

Maddy's still sick

We took her in for her six month visit today and found out that she still has the ear infection they found a month ago. Nice! Her right ear is still cloudy and red. Ugh. So instead of my oral drugs, they decided to give her a shot. Oh... she cried so hard for about 15 minutes. She ended up sleeping all day - almost literally. She didn't really sleep much last night or the night before so she made up for a lot of lost sleep. She slept from 4am - 7am. Then she slept from 10am - 1245pm at daycare. Then I picked her up and got her in the car. She went right back to sleep until about 1:30pm. Then we took pics and after she ate at 2:30pm, she went back to sleep until 6:30 pm. I was shocked when she was tired at 8pm. I put her down at 9pm though. I tried to keep her up. Poor thing. My little one is so sick. :(

Jelly?

This morning before we took Maddy to the doctor, I went to change her diaper. When I opened it up, she was still filling her diaper. Nice. When I looked a little bit more, I realized that it wasn't poop coming out of her butt, it was a gel-like substance. Interesting. What amazed me more than that was that I was actually watching her do it. Hmmm.

Reagan doesn't like to go to bed

So Jim's in Maddy's room hanging out. Not sure why. But he's playing games on his phone while Maddy lays in her bed kicking. Odd.

Reagan is in her bed as well. Too bad she's not laying down and just hanging out like Maddy. She up jumping around, climbing on her furniture, overall having a good time. So I go upstairs to find out what the noises are that I'm hearing. It was Reagan climbing on the bookcase in her room.

Unfortunately, I now have to go back upstairs and check on her. If she's screwing around on her bookcase again, I told her I'd pull all of her animals out of her room. Here's to hoping she's laying down. I'd hate to start that craziness tonight.

Happy Six Months Maddy

My little Maddy is SIX months old today. Sniff. She's getting so big. She's just so smiley all the time and such a happy baby. I can't believe that she's already been here for that long.

I went out last night...

My husband kicked me out last night to go to what I thought was a Mary Kay party. It was not. The director of this group, and a mom at Reagan's school, invited me to go. I didn't realize she was trying very hard to recruit me. I felt guilty about 20 minutes into the whole night. I wanted a new skin routine and she wanted a new sales rep. Hmmm. Bad mix.

Nonetheless, I had a good time. I did like the cleaning solutions and skin cream. Yea! I liked the mascara. She got me curious about a few other things, I wish I could have stayed to ask her what it was about, but I had to get home to feed Maddy.

When I got home, apparently all hell had broken loose. Not that I think I would have changed that had I been home, but it was not fun to come home to. Reagan had peed in her pants. Nice. Apparently she was inches from the toilet. Maddy was crying/fussing because she was hungry and tired.

It was a long night. Jim got Reagan in bed, but she wasn't tired. Maddy wasn't interested in sleeping. So she stayed up with us for a while. I eventually took her back upstairs and she fell asleep for a bit... around midnight. I grabbed a shower and laid down just in time for her to start fussing again. Jim tried to work with her, but after an hour she was still fussing and I was still awake. Nice again.

I eventually gave up and just brought her downstairs to sleep in her sleeper next to my bed. She went right to sleep. :) Funny thing - Reagan woke up about 4am. Jim just slept in her bed the rest of the night. Long night.

Singing her songs

Well, it's been two days since Sean brought her the music player. She LOVES it! She turns it on as soon as she gets up and doesn't stop. She dances for Maddy and sings for her. Maddy loves it. I love watching her sing. She's so expressive and she tries to sing right along with the words. I love it! Thanks Sean!

Crawling

When will she start crawling? Not sure. But tonight, we had her on her tummy and she was moving her legs in the right way.

Baabaaa

I love my baba. Tonight, she started getting fussy right around bed time, so I started our standard bed time routine. After I got her bottle ready, I showed it to her. She got so happy. She started kicking her feet and giggling. Wow! I guess she was wanting her bottle.

Sitting up so well

Tonight, we had Maddy on the floor and she was sitting up like a pro! So amazing how fast she she got that figured out. Now I know that she's been working on that for a long time. But, from the time we tried it on Friday to today, she nailed it. Wow.

Since she's sitting up so well, it opens up a whole new world of toys for her. I have a ton of stuff for "sitters". I've actually brought out all the cool stuff. She loves them all. She just cracks me up with how happy she gets when she sees the new toys. I love it.

Ants not just in her pants

Reagan is very energetic - it's almost like she's got ants in her pants. But tonight, Jim told me she found ants in her bed! What!? Holy Cow! He did say there weren't too many and he killed them all. Some how that didn't make me feel any better. So I went upstairs and picked her up and just put her in our bed. It's not the way I want to sleep, but I don't want ants crawling on my kid at night. Hmmm. Needless to say, I will sleep bundled up with my kid tonight. I hope I don't bring the ants to bed with us. :)

Skin rash, snuffy nose

Really? She just got off the medication (for three weeks) for her double ear infection. Now what?
Ugh. Actually, I noticed some eczema this morning when I changed her. I really hope it's not a reaction to the sweet potatoes. I doubt it, but thought I'd note it just in case. :)

Size four diapers maybe?

She is starting to completely poop out of her diapers every time she poops. It's driving me nuts. Rita keeps telling me to move her up to a four. I bought ahead on diapers (and she's not officially big enough for the next size) so I am resisting moving her up. Although, after the last few days, I am getting tempted to move her up. :(
