Karate girl

Tonight, Reagan did really well at karate. She's starting to really improve and listen much better. Sensei let me know that he was bragging on her because he hadn't seen me in a while and I would have been impressed with her during class time.

Yea Reagan!

Reagan got weapons

Tonight, Reagan came home with a huge grin and a pair of nun chucks. Uh oh world... here comes Reagan. She was so proud. She went out into the living room and showed us how it was done. So proud. Sniff sniff.

Karate

Reagan must have missed going to karate last week because she kept asking over the weekend when she was going again. So tonight, she was excited to find out she was going. She did really well in class. It might have had something to do with the fact that her daddy was helping teach the class. :)

Karate girl

Tonight, we went to karate. She went kicking and screaming. "I hate karate mommy" So we went. We got in there. "I don't want to get dressed mommy". So she did.

As soon as her belt was tied, she ran to the edge of the floor and watched. She watched the upper belts workout. Smiling the whole time. As soon as it was time for her to go onto the floor, she ran. She ran fast - as fast as she could.

She was first in line. She was the loudest doing her one-steps. She loved it.

By the end of it, she was holding hands with Charity and loving life.

Love her!

My little yellow belt

Reagan is really starting to get into the whole karate thing. I think her yellow belt came at just the right time for her. She was probably getting bored with it a bit - she didn't seem as interested. But, when Sensei said she was ready to move up, it really perked her up.

She did well tonight in class. She was starting to get a bit jittery, but she still did well.
She's also starting to identify herself as a yellow belt which is just awesome. I'm glad she's connecting with it and enjoying it.

Yellow Belt

She graduated tonight to yellow belt. It's just an awesome thing. Sensei invited her to come into the bigger kid class to get her new belt. It was fun to watch. She kept looking at all the other bigger people (kids and adults) - just looking. I wondered what was going through her head. But she kept up. She did really well. Mimi & Papa were able to make it for the graduation.

She was able to get her belt off and walk over it. She turned around at first and we all giggled because she was supposed to be facing all the Senseis. It was cute. She got turned around the right way and went through the graduation. She was so happy to have the belt tied on. I was so proud. :) Jim was on the floor with her when she got it. I'm sure he was proud as well.

Karate chop

Tonight was karate. She's starting to get a tad busy isn't she? She is getting confidence and starting to look forward to the class. I love it. We had Sensei Halvin tonight. He is really good with kids. Once Reagan got out onto the floor, she became the one that made him laugh, a lot.

He had them doing kick and punch drills. I was actually impressed with her load on her front kick and equally impressed with her fist. :) Her "noise" was extra loud and every time she kicked she yelled. Halvin liked that.

After three classes, she is definitely getting the hang of it. Plus, she looks totally cute in her gi. :)

Karate

Reagan took her second karate class tonight. She seemed very eager and ready to go when we got there. She got into her gi without a challenge. She went out onto the floor and watched. She just watched. We were there early so that was all she could do. I was amazed. She didn't move.
When class started, she actually payed attention and listened. She played, but quite frankly, she did awesome!
I'm so excited. I hope she really likes this stuff.

Mommy went to karate, Reagan had a fit

Wow! Just Wow!

Tonight, I went back to karate for the first time in almost two years. I needed it. And before I go any further, I LOVED IT! I had a wonderful time, probably because I spent over an hour kicking. The cool thing is that I can still kick face high and I still remember my katas. Whew. I just have to knock the rust off a bit.

Before I left, Reagan had a melt down. Mommy was leaving which meant she had a fit. And according to my mom, it was an awesome fit. When I walked out the door, she crawled to the garage door and plastered herself against the door jam. Mom said she wailed for over 20 minutes before quieting down. Once she fell silent, mom got up to look for her. She was standing at the front door just staring outside. Hmmm. It was longer before she would even go cuddle with my mom. poor thing.

When I got home, they were upstairs reading books. As soon as the door shut behind me, she started calling for me. Awwwwwwwww. I felt so bad, but I need mommy time and she needs to have some "non-mommy' time. It's good for both of us.

We had a really nice day today. She slept through the night until 530am. Yea Reagan. I woke up with her and gave her a bottle and she went back to bed about an hour later. We did all sorts of things today – played in her jumper, hung out on the floor and also tried her new walker. I tried several times today to get her to roll over, but she just doesn’t seem interested. Mom came over about 330pm to hang out with me and Reagan. Reagan ended up deciding she didn’t need her nap at 330pm and just stayed up until 500pm. She went down for her nap right before I left for karate. She and Grammy played quite a bit while I was gone. I knew she had a great time because she was grinning when I got home. Grammy and Grampy stayed over for pizza and went home soon after. What a nice day.

Karate class

Throwing Stars for two hours. How cool is that!? Our class tonight was not a sweaty one. We got to practice throwing “Stars” on a board all night.
