Lost another tooth - really?

Tonight, the girls and I were hanging out in the basement. Reagan walked into the bathroom and walked back out with a weird look on her face. "Mom, should I have lost another tooth already?" and handed me a tooth.  What the heck?

Lost another tooth and spitting

Oh geez. This kid loves to mess with her teeth. I noticed that it was loosened, but she was playing with it. A lot. Within two days of me asking her to quit playing with it, it was out. I picked her up today from school and she was beaming with pride - it was gone.
She was so happy the whole way home.

In contrast, this was the day that Maddy got in trouble at school for the first time. She was a little frustrated and threw some things on the floor. When she was confronted, she spit on her teacher. Geez really? When I got there, she was fine until I confronted her. She started freaking out and crying. She took a long time to settle down. Once she did, we had to talk about why. She didn't have any answer except she was upset. Sigh.

So following up with the tooth - I totally forgot the tooth fairy. We woke up the next morning and had totally forgotten to put money in her pillow.

Tooth Fairy

So Reagan's second upper middle tooth came out today. I picked her up from school ad she had totally surprised me. The teachers and her pretended she was in trouble "don't forget to tell your mom". When she opened her mouth, she smiled. I freaked. So happy! She had decided to pull it out during the morning routine. Very exciting.

So the tooth fairy had to visit. She decided to take all of her stuffed animals and build a wall with them and hide her TF pillow at the same time. Really!? Jim woke me up to show me as well. It was super cute and funny.  It took us a bit of time to find her pillow, but we did without waking up. Whew.

Snaggle tooth

This tooth has just been "hanging" out in her mouth forever. It's driving me crazy. She's fine with it, but man I can't wait until it falls out. :)

First top tooth out!

So after church today, we were getting dinner together and Reagan came up to me with a cute little grin - her tooth had fallen out. Oh My! We were so excited for her. The tooth had been literally hanging on for a thread for over a week. I wanted to just yank it out myself, but really wanted her to do it.

So it's out. She is thrilled. The Tooth Fairy will come tonight for my little one.

Stubborn tooth

Her tooth is really ready to come out. It's been hanging on for weeks just waiting to fall out. She can even twist it in her head and it still won't come out. I can see her big tooth coming in behind it - I'm just waiting. The fun part is that it totally grosses Jim out when she plays with it. :)

Dentist Visit

We went to the dentist today - all three girls. I booked the two little ones together just to make it easier to remember. We brought some books and iPads with us to keep them entertained.  Reagan was a huge help in the waiting room. She kept Maddy entertained and was just so good with her. Once we got called back, Reagan got up in the chair like a pro.

Her mouth is still a little small for the bite wing xrays. But she tried. I'm proud of her for just trying. She sat in the chair and just took everything in stride. She loves Dr. McMahon. She tells him that every time as well. She was so happy to see him today - it was cute. Best news thought - NO CAVITIES!!! So excited.

Next it was Maddy's turn. She was not totally sure about the whole thing. She wouldn't let go of her iPad nor would she leave my lap. So I sat on the chair and held onto her.   They didn't take too long to figure out she wasn't interested in cooperating. It was hilarious. She's soo good with the regular doctor, you'd think she'd just be fine. Nope. Not the case.

The dentist came in and she closed her mouth and looked at him like he had three heads. She did eventually let him check her teeth, but that is about all we got done. Sharon gave her the tooth brush. She wouldn't let her do it, but she wanted to hold it and brushed her own teeth. Regardless, she did really well. It was fun to watch her take it all in.

The wiggly tooth

So we are home today and the kids are super bored of course. Reagan came up to me while I was working and informed me that her tooth was loose.  Her top left tooth (or right if you are looking at her mouth) is wiggly. She, of course, is going crazy because she can't just yank it out. Ugh. Now I need to get her six-year old pictures done before that tooth disappears. :)

Teeth!

Holy Cow! Reagan has molars. Tonight, I was brushing her teeth and wanted to look at her back tooth that had a dark spot on it. When I opened her mouth, that's when I saw it. The back bottom left molar was half way through. Then I looked at the rest of her mouth - all her back molars are in except the bottom back right. What!? Wow! Now to figure out what these things are called. I can't believe it.

Loose tooth

My darling Reagan officially has her first loose tooth. Her top, front, right tooth. The only reason I noticed it is because her teeth are basically perfect. The one was pushed back. So either she had gotten bopped or it was loose. :) Sigh, my little girl is getting so big.

Updated on December 29th...
Reagan finally told me what happened. She actually fell into a piece of furniture in my parents' basement. Nice. So I will probably take her to the doctor to make sure no damage was done. Either way, she will probably lose this tooth. :(

Updated on December 31st...
Yup - there is nothing we can do. Her permanent teeth didn't look effected at this point. Her gums are good. So no visible damage. But they also decided to do nothing with it. So my little girl officially has a loose tooth and may get to lose it soon. I'm hoping it stays in a bit longer. I'm not ready for her to be toothless, but she certainly is. :)

Teeth

Her molars are in - all of them... Really!?

More teeth

Maddy's four canines are finally growing in - too bad it is all at once. The top right one is actually through the gum, but the others are quite close behind. Wow!

Cavities, oh no

Reagan got her cavities filled today. She doesn't like to be warned about stuff - she does much better when you just say "hey girl, this is what we are doing". If she gets too much information about something tough too early, she will sit on it and process it for way too long. Just like her mama.

So this morning I said (on the way to the dentist) "honey, we're going to the doctor to get your teeth fixed." She said "yea yea mama, just turn on the tv". Literally. I was getting ready to explain it to her. She was not at all interested. Okay...

The doctor and nurse were great with her. She was fine. They turned on Disney and put the mask and glasses on her. They numbed her up, she didn't even flinch. The only time she got frustrated was when they forced her mouth open for a period of time to fill the teeth. That hurt her, not the shot or the drilling. Wow.

Needless to say, I felt horrible. But it was kinda cool getting to see what they do to fix a tooth. She was numb for a while. I asked her if she wanted to go home or Starbucks. My girl chose Starbucks. *grin* We stopped by Kroger to get her some advil to prevent pain. She said "mama, it already hurts. but I'm okay."

Geez. Love her. She got four prizes for three cavities. I bought her four toothbrushes and promised a toy from the toy store after school. Sigh...

Three cavities

Nice. They said it wasn't my fault. She has really deep grooves in her teeth. It's just the way they are made. But still it makes me sick.

Maddy's teeth

Apparently she is getting five teeth at once. Maybe that is why she has such drainage lately. I don't know, but it is nuts. Her left and right top molars have popped through (not the eye teeth, but the next ones back). Her bottom right molar and front right tooth have popped through and her bottom left one is just about ready to pop through. This is nuts.

Four molars

Really? Maddy's back teeth are coming in. Actually one is already in. I was waiting on the front bottom two to fill in. I guess she had other things in mind.

Tooth #6 folks

Yes - it's poking through... She's been really fussy lately. When I looked in her mouth, I could see the whole tooth about ready to come down. It was already through the gum. Wow!

Tooth #5

Maddy now has five teeth. Oh My!

More teeth? and a weird toe.

She looks like she's getting more teeth. Her gums look swollen and are hard. I'm wondering when she's going to have more pop through.

I've also been watching her toe. I keep waiting for her big toe nail to either pop off or flake off. It's gross! I can't tell if there is another nail growing underneath or if it's just going to come off. Ugh. Driving me crazy. At least it doesn't seem to bother her.

Fourth tooth already

Here fourth tooth is popping through this morning.
