Happy Birthday Brennan!

Today, we went to Louisville to help our nephew celebrate his 8th birthday!
Happy Birthday Buddy!!

SHE ROLLED OVER

Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it. She rolled over! I was so excited I scared both dogs, my husband and the baby. She looked at me like “what did I do?”. It was just so darn cute. Of course, she didn’t do it again, but I didn’t care. Jim was right – she did it. Oh – and she rolled back to front (like I predicted). Yea Reagan.

Sleeping on her side?

I went in overnight to check on Reagan and she has started sleeping on her side. She even slept that way for her nap. I keep thinking she’ll roll over in her sleep and freak out. It is so obvious that she can do it… she just won’t yet. The other thing she did today was to turn over on the changing pad. I told Jim about it and he said “oh she’ll roll over today I bet”. I don’t believe him.

I'm not rolling over

And don’t try to make me do it. I was working with Reagan today to get her to roll over and she stopped me from doing it. She stuck out her foot and stopped me from moving her. She just looked up. I got the hint. UGH!

Bathtime

She loves taking a bath. She is finally used to sitting in that apparatus in the tub. Once she settles down, she starts splashing and kicking. We bought her letters for the tub and she loves them. We just dump them in the water and she goes crazy trying to get them. She enjoys eating the letter “I”. I’m not sure why. I stuck a bunch of letters on the walls of the tub and she was able to get them off by grabbing them. Yea Reagan.

Can she pull up yet?

I also started a new game with her today. We started off laying down and got her to pull up to sitting, then standing. Once I got her there, I would bounce her up and down and throw her a few times. She got into that game pretty quickly. By the end of the day, she was pulling up from lying down on her own pretty well.

Neat Things

Reagan did some neat stuff today – she started holding the bottle and passing things from hand to hand more easily. She also started standing on the couch by herself. I propped her upright and she just stood there. She did try to pull away from the couch back a few times – and was successful for brief moments – all to just fall back again. She thought that was just the best thing.

Teething

When will she cut a tooth. I’m not sure, but today she’s chewing on more things throughout the day. She is starting to pick things up to chew on them. There doesn’t seem to be anything she doesn’t try to chew on. So I’m thinking that she is teething and may start cutting soon.

Time to Reorganize

Well, when I get the itch, I really get the itch. This morning, I tore apart all the kitchen cabinets and had everything out on the floor by the time Jordan and Reagan got up today. By noon, the kitchen was a disaster area. But I had to get it organized. It’s been driving me nuts and it just couldn’t wait any longer. The good thing is, now we have more space. Not sure how that happened… just did.

Uncle Eric

We had a great surprise today – Uncle Eric came to visit. It was the first time I’ve seen him in a number of months despite how close they live. Mom, Reagan, Jordan and I met Eric at Max & Ermas for dinner. Reagan took her usual time warming up to him, but eventually did just fine. Thanks for dropping in Eric!

Playtime

Today was lots of fun. She really seems to be making more changes again. She’s passing things between her hands much better now. While we were on the floor, she was pushing the piano out of her way. When we hold her to stand, she actually stands for brief moments. The other odd thing – she LOVES the couch cushions. I haven’t figured that out. They do have a neat pattern to them, but other than that, I am unsure why they are fascinating to her.

Busy Day

Despite the fact that she slept through the night, Reagan decided she didn’t need a morning nap. I think she was so excited to see Jordan that she really didn’t need to sleep. So we just took off and ran our errands. I quit worrying whether or not she’d be awake or asleep. I figured she’d pass out when she needed some. And she did. She slept on the way to the store and while we were walking around Walmart. Jordan, Reagan and I went to Walmart and Michaels to get some things to finish up Jordan’s room. We had a nice day, but a busy day.

Well we had a good night – Reagan slept through and I only got up once. Now look who’s not sleeping. Our day was pretty easy. Reagan and I went shopping to get some stuff for Jordan’s room at Michaels. I discovered very quickly that Michaels was a great place to take Reagan. She loved all the stuff she could look at. She especially like the flowers and greenery. I liked it because she could pull on the plants and flowers and I could put them back together. She cooed very loudly as we passed down the isles and just had a ball.

After we got home, we spent some time hanging out on the porch. Reagan really enjoys spending time outside. Every time a car would pass by, she would get so excited. She’d kick her legs and make her “mmmm” sound.

Jordan came home from Mobile late (about 11pm) due to a missed flight out of Mobile. While we were waiting for Jordan to get home, we decided to finish decorating her room with the posters and clock we had purchased. So we got that done. She was pleasantly surprised when she got into bed that night.

Good day

Reagan did well last night. She didn’t get up very much. She did whimper a few times, but overall did well. Lauren came over today for an hour so I could work out. It was a nice break to get on the treadmill without having to worry about her getting up from a nap. We sat outside and just hung out for about an hour. She really enjoys just being outside and watching the world go by. I think I’ll try to do that a little more often. We always take a walk around the house (or in the stroller) every day, but I haven’t just sat outside with her in a week or so.

We took a trip over to the karate school tonight to visit. I haven’t taken her over there since she was about six weeks old, but most of the class hadn’t seen her yet. So it was fun to bring her up there. After that, I met Emily, Paul and Jim (and kids) over at Margaritas for dinner then off to Dicks’ to find some shoes (which didn’t happen).

When I got home, Jim had her in the bouncer. He tried putting her down for the night while I was out, but she had other things in mind. She finally went to bed about 930pm but woke up at 1030pm with a nightmare maybe? I’m not sure. Either way, she screamed so much that even Jim came upstairs to see what was going on. We weren’t really sure… she was just screaming and yawning and no matter how much I held her, she screamed. Once we put a bottle in her mouth, she calmed down. I’m not sure what was going on with her, but I’m sure I’ll be getting up a few more times tonight.

Ringworm - ugh

She has it. I saw a little patch on her leg this morning and covered it with a bandaid. I finally called the doctor and they said to just put Lamisil on it until it goes away and that it wasn’t a big deal. What a pain.

Sitting up from a reclined position

This morning she was reclined to about a 50 degree angle (or not quite half way down to the floor) and she sat straight up from that position. Wow.

Sleep - again

Well, she slept through the night. After she did it for Jim, I realized she can do it again. So, I just let her whimper a few times and she got herself back to sleep. I’m hoping to sleep in my own bed again.

Inching around

So while she won’t roll yet, she is moving on the floor. It’s cool. She’s gotten over the instant irritation with being on her tummy. She actually will move to get a toy and spin (not real fast) to reach for other objects not directly in front of her. Today she actually got one quarter around a circular path before she got locked on her mirror and stopped.

Rolling over - so close

She is so darn close to rolling over from her back. I just can’t stand it. She will roll a little past half way and just look at me. She also will kick her leg over and start contracting her muscles to go all the way over and then just not do it. So I’m hoping that with some coaxing this week she’ll get it. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wii - Rock Band

Jim and I bought Rock Band for the Wii today. It is hilarious.

I slept in

Today was a pretty good day for me. I was able to sleep through the night. I actually got Jim to agree to “get up” with Reagan instead of me. Of course, my body is so used to getting up periodically through the night that I still got up a few times, but I didn’t have to go take care of the baby. I slept in until 7 am and then went back and took a nap when she went down again. Ahh to get some sleep.
