Rolling feet

Today is the first time I really paid attention, but Jim mentioned that Reagan “rolled” her feet. It seems that every time she is outside – in the breeze – or inside excited, she rolls her little feet. I’m going to watch her to see when she does it.

Happy Father's Day - Papaw

Tonight we went up to see Jim’s dad for Father’s Day. We went over to the Houston Inn for dinner. I did get Reagan to sit up in a high chair and we fed her carrots and rice. I’m surprised how well she did.

Shopping

Today was a busy day. We took part of the afternoon and walked around Crestview Mall getting ready for Father’s Day. Reagan hung out in her stroller while the three of us enjoyed the outdoors. After we were done shopping for Jim’s dad, we went over to Dewey’s Pizza and ate. Boy was that good. Reagan slept through mosts of the meal in her stroller. After that we went home to let the dogs out and get ready to go see Papaw.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Jim and Cathy. Five years ago on Friday, June 13th, Jim and I had our first date.

Busy day

Today was another busy day. Jordan didn’t have camp, so we went up to the mall in the morning to shop at Limited Too. Surprisingly enough, there wasn’t a whole lot there that I was jazzed about. Usually I don’t mind getting a few things there for Jordan despite the prices, but there just wasn’t anything there that I could fathom spending a lot of money on. She was able to get a cute dress and a couple outfits but not much else.

Paul and Emily came over tonight. We made margaritas and fajitas and just hung out. We played Wii Fit and Dance Dance Revolution. I have never played that game – it was obvious. I couldn’t get anything right, but I had a blast trying.

Snorting

She snorts just like her momma. Jim was so proud today when he was able to make Reagan laugh so hard that she actually snorted. Wow.

Busy day again

Today went by so fast again. Oh my gosh.
Mom took part of the day again to hang out with me and little Reagan. It was so nice to have her along with me on my errands. I really love the fact that Reagan knows mom and really enjoys her. We went to Sams and Toys R Us to get some more stuff for her growing brain. Reagan did very well. We had her filled up with solids before we took off and she made it until we got home to eat again. When we got home, Jordan was playing Wii games and Jim was working. So we just hung out with Reagan and played with her new toys. Mom ended up staying here so long that Dad came over and we all went out to eat. It was such a nice day.

No more swaddling

Because Reagan thrashes about so much trying to settle down, I’ve swaddled her through her naps and sleep for quite some time. It has worked really well until recently. I guess the combination of the heat upstairs and her ability to wriggle out of the swaddle, it just hasn’t been working. She seems to get more frustrated with the swaddle more than anything. When speaking to my neighbor Pam, she suggested that I get rid of the swaddle and bite the bullet. I’ve had so many different suggestions on how to get my little bundle of joy to sleep through the night and I guess her suggestion just caught me at the right time. I tried it. It worked. I gave Reagan her little lamb (in hopes that it would calm her hands and arms) and turned the monitor up way high so I could hear the noise if she stopped breathing. The lamb worked wonders. It did calm her hands down quite a bit. She feels that instead of popping her pacifier out and ends up staying settled after she falls asleep. Plus when she woke up this morning, she wasn’t half in and half out of a swaddle. She was free to just move about which she loves. I hope it keeps working.

Hanging with Grammy

Today was a busy day. Christy and Jack came over this morning for a quick play date. They were able to hang out for about an hour before Reagan crashed. She seemed to still be catching up on some needed sleep from the little bug she had over the last few days.

Later in the evening, Mom and I went over to Macy’s to go shopping during their “one day sale”. Of course, those sales are really never that good after you go to another store. But at the time, they always seem to be good prices.

Grammy's day

Tonight was Grammy’s day to babysit Reagan. She came over a little early to hang out with me and Reagan before karate class. Then about 530, Jim and I took off for class. When we got home, Mom had Reagan in the jumper in front of the TV watching DVDs. I think she was really busy because Mom actually looked a little tired.

Stand up please

Boy oh boy does she like to stand up. When I hold her up, she really is starting to straighten her legs out. She doesn’t just slump over anymore, she is trying to stand up. She is just growing and changing so much.

Do toes taste good?

Today Reagan was just fascinated with her toes. She usually plays with her feet, but for some reason today she kept sticking them in her mouth. They never stayed there – her fist did most the time – but she kept trying. I hope they taste good.

Rolling over maybe

She is so close to rolling over. After her little effort in the carseat at Biggs yesterday, I figured she was definetly able to roll over. She just hasn’t put all the “pieces” together yet. So today, she almost did it. She was arching her back and pulling the leg over, but just not getting over the whole way. She’s about 80% there. I wanted to just tap her foot to give her the extra umpf, but didn’t want to cheat either.

Donald Duck

Grampy does an impression of Donald Duck which is pretty good. Ever since Reagan her him this weekend make that noise (which he does all the time), she’s been trying to imitate that noise. It is her new thing.

Just more aware

I am constantly amazed at how much she does daily. It just seems that in the last week, she has really started to take off. She is becoming much more aware and active with her surroundings. She is always reaching for things and getting better at getting them when she tries. She plays more, smiles more, reacts more every day.

What is sleep?

Well, she didn’t sleep through the night at all. She was up from 3am until 6am. UGH!

Lauren's babysitting

Lauren babysat for the second time today. It was really nice to have a break in my day and get a little exercise in. She does a good job with her.

Out to eat

Tonight we went out to eat with Emily, Paul and little Sean. It was Reagan’s first time eating solid foods while out to eat with the family. It was cute. She did pretty well. I don’t think I ate anything personally. I think I wore more of her food than I ate of my own. Oh well – it was worth it.

Nursery at church

Today was the first time she went to the nursery at church. We dropped her off in time for Sunday School and nap time. She did fine. She slept the whole time. Thank goodness.

Popping out of her carseat

Poor Reagan had a rough day. She spent most of it in her car seat. She went from church to lunch at First Watch. After that, she spent most of her day in the car seat. When we got home from lunch, she was passed out. Unfortunately, I left her in the seat. That was my mistake. After her nap, I fed her. But then she went right back into her seat and off we went again. We went to Sams and Biggs. By the time we got to Biggs, I felt so horrible for having her in the seat all day that I carried her (or Jim did). As we were nearing the end of our trip, I put her in the car seat briefly while I adjust my shorts and hers. Apparently she wasn’t interested. Little ms attitude screamed a bit and popped her bottom straight off the seat and about jumped out of the car seat. I just couldn’t believe it. She is a strong little thing.
