Sharing

Reagan is really good at sharing, but sometimes she really doesn't like to share. She, at times, will be playing with something that Maddy wants. This is nothing too shocking, but it's so cute. Today, she actually just dropped the toy at Maddy's feet and walked away pouting. She sat herself in the chair and just pouted. I'm so proud of her. I know it's hard to learn how to share with a little sister. After all, she was used to being the baby. But she's so good.

Building?

Reagan loves to build things. She and Jim tonight actually built a huge tower with the wooden blocks upstairs. I was shocked when she didn't tear it down. She and Jim went back and forth putting blocks in. Reagan kept trying to add doors and windows. It was cute. I love watching her brain work and figure out how to do things. It's so cool.

Biting

Uh oh. Maddy is doing the normal thing by sticking everything into her mouth. I don't remember Reagan being this way. We might be in trouble.

My girls

It's hard to believe that Reagan is rounding the corner to four and Maddy is almost one. I can't believe that this year has flown by so fast. It's so hard sometimes to think they are just growing up. Now I know why people keep having babies. They are so nice at this age. So easy.

I watch them play and I can't stop looking. I don't want to miss anything that they do. Some days I wish I could just be home with them. It would be such a change in lifestyle and my days. I love the school they get - Reagan is so far ahead. But I miss her every day.

Maddy is growing so fast. I just can't stand it. I love them both so much. I hope they know that. I can't imagine not having them in my life. I love my girls!

2+2 is 4 Mommy

Tonight, I was feed2ing Maddy a bottle when Reagan plopped right next to me on the couch and started to tell me what 2+2 is. "It's four Mommy!"

She was so proud. Then she added, "if you take away one, you only have three". Again, so proud.

So I asked, what happens if you take another away. "Well, Mommy, that's two." Hmmm.

So I went the other direction. "What is 2+2?" I was, of course, thinking she wouldn't know. She just looked at me and said "mommy that's four". (like duh!)

Then she added, "and if you take another one away, you only have one left".

That was that.

Reagan's creativity

Tonight, Jim rewarded Reagan's creativity. She had taken a fruit snack against our direction. Jim had her cornered and she had it hiding behind her back. He said "show me what is in your hand". She did. It was empty. He said "the other hand...". She switched the fruit snack to the other hand and held out the now empty hand. She smiled. No fruit snack daddy.

Then he said "show me both hands". He thought he had her.

Ha! She put the fruit snack behind her butt, pushed her butt up against the door and held it there while pulling her empty hands out. See daddy, "I don't have anything". Of course, all this done with a big smile.

After that, Jim said, "how can I tell her know when she was the creative?"

Good point.

Crawling officially

She started crawling on all fours today. She's done it some here and there, but she crawled all the way across the room without dragging her belly today.

Cruising on the wall? Really?

Tonight, Maddy shocked me. She pulled up on the wall and started cruising. Is she spider woman? What the heck. I watched her do it. I'm not sure if I got a picture or not. I'm still in shock.

Violin

Tonight, she did great. We hadn't been to her lesson in two weeks and she could still play the first part of twinkle with the right bow technique. It was shocking. Her teacher actually said she was proud of her. Yea!

LIttle Miss Defiant

Reagan has turned into Little Miss Defiant. I am not sure why, but she has started digging her heels in a little more when she's given direction. It's getting tougher to keep my cool because sometimes she really drives me crazy. But I keep trying to remember that she mimics everything - including the bad. So I have to keep my cool even when she's not obeying. Ugh. Sometimes it's hard.

Noises and more

Maddy was so vocal today. She makes this noise with the back of her throat and she does it when is playing. It sounds like "gi, gi" with your mouth shut. She has started to make louder noises - it's almost like she's developing her own little language.

Tonight at dinner, I was feeding her some banana and I asked her if she wanted more. When I made the sign for "more", she giggled. So I gave her more. I did it again. She giggled louder. I think she knew what it meant.

When it was time for bed, she started fussing. She wanted mama and she wanted to be upstairs. As soon as she gets upstairs, she starts making her little giggle. Then she sees the blanket. She giggles more. Once I sit down in the rocker, she starts cooing. She knows it is time for bed.

Dancing girl

Reagan has really started getting into the girly stuff like dancing, pretty dresses and make believe. She loves to get dressed up and twirl for everyone. She's also started putting on Jordan's old dress up shoes more often. We've had to forbid her from running in them because they are so slick - she's already biffed in them once.

Her pretend play is quite fun to participate in. She loves to make food and act like she's on stage. The other day at mom & dads, she found a microphone with recorded songs and started singing and dancing along. I got a few videos of her doing this - it was just adorable.

Noises of Hootie

Maddy has gotten so vocal lately. She makes all sorts of noises. She's can clearly say mama and dada. When she gets excited, she makes a "huuu" sound. She's especially vocal when she sees her blanky before nap and bed time. She gets so happy.

She started making a "giii" sound when she plays with the Little People Farm set. She makes it over and over again when she's playing. She just gets a fit a laughing and makes that noise. It's so cute.

Put me in my walker

This morning, she actually asked to be put into her walker. She crawled up to me and when I picked her up, she leaned over towards it. I put her in it and she made her "happy sound" and took off as soon as she had her feet on the floor.

Poop again

This morning, Maddy had leaked through her clothes and onto her bed. We had to cut her clothes off and do another bath. I think I'm getting good at this.
