Grammy's words today

Everybody up! Usual sassafras ;-). Jordan and Jim off to sunny soccer game and Reagan, me (Mom) and Grammy hung out on a blanket under shade tree. Reagan made all sorts of happy sounds today - Ba, ba, ba, ba – and played happily with her toys.
It was so hot during Jordan’s game that both Jordan and Jim were down on the soccer field. After the game, Cathy met w/Cristina (finally) and showed off little Reagan.
We all went back to the house after that. Jordan sat down and fed the baby her lunch. Grammy & Grampy came over to sit for both the girls while Jim and I went to visit Mema & Papa. Reagan was napping when they got there and Jordan was off to go visit with her friend Frannie.

Indian Yell

Reagan has figured out how the make the Indian noise that we all used to make when we were kids. Ya know – yell outloud and move your hand back and forth over your mouth. She doesn’t do it quite as well as an eight-year old would, but she does it. She usually takes her fist or some object and just starts yelling. She’ll then put her “item” in her mouth and move it back and forth. Just quite funny.

I guess the neat thing today, other than me losing my mind, was Jordan feeding Reagan. Jordan really wanted to feed her so I let her. I gave her all the food and walked away. She did really well. Reagan was a mess, but they were both having a great time. It was a nice relief to know that someone else can feed her too now. About half way through her meal, I tried to take over for Jordan. Reagan protested very loudly and refused to eat. Oh well. It was sweet to see that connection between the two of them.

What is my birthday?

Wow- it’s finally happened. I have completely lost my mind. Today, I was standing behind my boss rattling off my personal information – ss#, address etc… - and got to my birthday and said “04/08/1970” and he said “that’s not your birthday”. I said puzzled, “yea it is”. He of course challenged me and said “are you sure”? I said “of course, I think I would know my birthdate”. He lifted up the form that I had filled out on my first day of employment and said “are you SURE???” The form said 04/09/1970.
WOW! I’m a dork. At least he has a good sense of humor.

This morning we all had an early start. I was dropping off both Reagan and Jordan which meant we all had to leave the house by about 7am. Wow. All three of us walked into LRS and it was pretty empty. I’m not usually there until about 730 in the morning – a time that is usually a little more hectic – so I wasn’t sure what to do when I didn’t see her teacher in her room. We followed the sound of voices down the hall and found all the teachers and all the kids in one room. It was a chaotic room full of happy voices early in the morning. Some kids were being fed at the table, some were still in their car seats, others were hanging out on the floor. Wow. I wasn’t sure what to do. One teacher said “just put her down on the floor”. I started to look around when another teacher came out of the crowd and said “REAGAN’S HERE!!!!”. She was so excited. I didn’t know who she was, but I knew she was a teacher and Reagan smiled. Reagan leaned over to go to her and I looked at Jordan and said “guess we can go huh?”.

Tonight, I watched something cool. Reagan was sitting on the floor and was about to topple over when she put her hand down. She propped herself up! Wow!! I’m amazed that she has learned to do that.
