Ok Lauren is wonderful. Tonight, Jim and I went to the neighborhood party. Initially we had taken Reagan, but Pam mentioned that her daughter was home and might be interested in sitting for us. I took Reagan home about 730 pm to feed her and called Lauren. Yep, she was interested.
She showed up, I told her where all the stuff was and she even said that she'd try to put her down. I thought for sure I was going to get a phone call from her at 930 pm saying she was having trouble.
We got home at 1000 pm and it was just Lauren in the living room. No Reagan. I was completely shocked and totally impressed. No only did she put her down, but she fed her, changed her into pjs and she was asleep. She didn't seem phased.
I really didn't know what to do with myself at all. I am so used to having to just take care of the night time routine, that I found myself without my own routine. What a break!
SUPER LAUREN!

Today was a little stressful to start. Jim and I had to find an alternative place for Reagan to go for day care pretty fast and I was really worried about not being able to emotionally and mentally move to get that done. I really wanted to stay at Lynn’s, but she expressed interest in keeping the current kids – and I don’t blame her at all. I wish things had worked out differently, but that is life. One of the books I have for new mommies said “you will have many day care people helping you with your kid, you will have one, you will have many” or something like that. Basically, I needed to get over it and move on because this stuff is common enough that I had to accept the situation and adjust. Ick, but oh well.
I have to say, as much as I am unhappy with the circumstances, I still really like Lynn. I don’t think that she would have ever put my little girl in a bad situation knowingly. I do think she really cares for Reagan and I know that Reagan really clicked with her. I think because of all that, I had a hard time with the emotional side of our decision to move her. Unfortunately, life happens and we have to move on. I really hope that she and I continue to build a friendship somehow. If not, I still feel that God put her in my life for a reason and I hope I figure out why if it wasn’t to take care of Reagan.

Ugh - Poor Reagan
Today was not good - although, I shouldn’t say that. It started out well enough, but it just ended on a bad note. Today was the day that Reagan got bit by another boy at the sitter's house (for the third and fourth time). The boy is a part time kid who is about 14 months old. She’s been bitten before by him, but both times didn't seem like big deals and I was told that she was handling the situation. Well today I called her at lunch time like I had all week to check in with her and all was well. I left work about 415pm and got there before 5pm. By the time I had gotten there the biting had happened. I showed up and Reagan was laying on the swing with Lynn – perfectly happy. She was smiling and just relaxing. Nice.
Lynn said “I have some good news and some bad news”. I knew then I wasn’t going to be happy. I looked at her closely and could already see the marks. She said “she took two bottles and ate solids twice for me, but she also got bit twice by Carson”. I just took it in. She explained what happened but I didn’t hear much. I just kept looking at Reagan’s new injuries for the day. UGH. She told me she had to pull Carson off of her and that she sent him home immediately. I knew I was going to flip out after I left and told her that Jim would not be happy.
Needless to say I did flip after I left. I called Jim right away and told him calmly what happened and then just started bawling. I can’t do this – I can’t go to work at a new job and be worried about Reagan getting bitten. I hate this. I think that was it for me. It was three days of six that Carson was with her at Lynn’s that she was bitten by him and I just couldn’t do it again. So we told her and she said OK. She wants to see if it will work out after a “break from Carson” and I am not willing to put her back there. So Jim and I decided to find some place to take her. UGH again.
I am really praying about this tonight. I want to make a good decision for Reagan. So prayers and good gut check will get me through this one.

Going to Lynn's again
Today was the second day in a row for Reagan to hang out with Lynn. We’re tryinig to get her used to a routine over at her home and figured two days in a row was better than just one. I dropped her off and took off to run some errands. Today was my “pamper” day. I went and got a makeover at the Clinique counter, picked up some supplies for Lynn’s house and worked out. I was hoping to get my toes done, but it didn’t workout. Oh well. Lynn called me about 1200 noon and let me know that she was doing great. She had eaten both her bottle and was starting to take her second nap of the day. Wow. That made me feel good. At the end of the day, mom went with me to pick her up. Lynn did have a good story for us. Apparently Reagan likes to fart. She and Lynn were sitting on the floor just hanging out when she fell silent. Reagan started looking around and then lifted a butt cheek and farted. Not only that, she giggled when she was done. I’m so proud of her.

Hanging out with Lynn
Today was her third time with Lynn and she did just fine. She actually did better this time. I dropped her off and she didn’t seem to mind at all. I disappeared as soon as she wasn’t looking. I called about 2 hours later to check on her and she was actually taking her morning nap. Yea Reagan. So I was off enjoying my day. I did some tedious errands and worked out. Jim and I took off to get Jordan and the Reagan. She was doing fine when we showed up. She was actually a tad fussy, but she had refused to take her afternoon nap. Oh well. She’ll get used to it. The great news was she actually ate 3.5 jars of food (yea) and 1.5 bottles. She was about “right on” with her food intake for the day – much better than last time. So hopefully by the time she’s been there for a few days in a row, she’ll have her routine down. It really stinks leaving her, but I think Lynn was a great choice – definitely a God send. I hope Reagan likes her too.

Going to Lynn's again
Well – today is a big day. I’m dropping Reagan off for her second trial run before I go back to work. I’m such a spaz – I’m already having trouble thinking about going back to work much less actually being gone from her 45 hours a week. I hope it goes well.
Update
Reagan did GREAT today. She didn’t cry. Matter of fact, Lynn called bragging about the fact that she didn’t cry after I left. So hopefully she’ll make the transition ok. I still worry – but I always will I guess. After we got home, she was wiped out. She ended up going to be a little early and sleeping through the night.

Lauren's babysitting
Lauren babysat for the second time today. It was really nice to have a break in my day and get a little exercise in. She does a good job with her.
