Little Ms. Daredevil

Ok. Now, I have to say, my daughter has absolutely no fear. Last night, I put her in her walker for a bit and she does what she always does - goes crazy fast around the house. Since her little legs have figured out how to operate the walker on the rugs, she has developed much more power on the hard wood floor.

So last night, I called for her. I was standing in the kitchen and all I heard was the sound of her little plastic tires hitting the wood flooring. All of a sudden, she came peeling around the corner and slammed (yes, slammed) her walker into the leg of our kitchen table.

She sat dazed for a second, "shook it off" and just kept going.

My Little Daredevil!

Happy Halloweenie!

Well Little Ms. Reagan was all "halloweenie" again today. She had on her orange and white cat shirt to celebrate the day. The best part about a baby's first holidays is that they really don't care and have no idea what is going on. That just means you can dress them up as silly as you want for pure self-enjoyment. And of course I did.

So with that in mind, tonight Reagan will wear a penguin costume. I was hoping for a cow costume, but could not justify spending more than $10.00 on something that she would not wear more than once. And since I found a penguin for just under $10 before tax, that's what she is going to be. We'll see how long it actually stays on.

She's crazy and into everything

I think Reagan has no fear. She is so mobile now and is also taking so many chances that I have a hard time keeping up with her. One second she’s crawling around the living room – the next second she’s in the kitchen hanging off one of the chairs! I now have to peel her little fingers off of something because she is so darn determined to do what she wants to do.

Of course, I put her in the walker thinking that I can get something done because she’s somewhat contained. Ha ha! She’s motoring around the house so fast that she doesn’t worry about what she’s running into – walls, chairs, dogs (yes dogs). I think she sees a bulls-eye on the dogs at times.

Oh and the bathroom is just a really bad place for her to be. I have no locks on anything which means if I don’t have enough toys in there with her she gets into whatever she can open and crawl to (which is everything). I let her play with a battery operated back massage thingy which surprisingly enough keeps her attention if she turns it on. She puts it on her leg, on the wall and anywhere she can get it to make a noise. She stuck it on the shower door and just started giggling. It made such a loud noise that it startled me a little – I just didn’t know what she was doing.

And yes, she now knows what No means. She just grins at you and keeps going. She knows… hmmm

Halloween shirt a hit

Well, Reagan's Halloween shirt was a hit today at LRS. Not only did the parents enjoy her shirt, so did all the babies in her room. A co-worker on my project called me last Friday and said she had found the most adorable Halloween shirt and wanted to get it for me. I said "sure" but had no idea what it would really look like.
She said it was bright orange and had a ghost on the front of it that lights up with noise. When she brought it in on Monday, I absolutely loved it. It's kinda funny actually. If you touch it or talk near it, the lights go crazy.

So today I put her in this top and a pair of black pants. She was all "halloweenie". Apparently there was a boy (Aiden) in her class that like it just as much as she did. Amy said that Aiden would crawl over to her and start playing with her shirt - patting it and playing with Reagan. At some point, Reagan would get irritated with the whole thing and start pulling his hair and "defending" her shirt. I would guess she was doing it more because she was sick of the boy messing with her (yea Reagan) than messing with the shirt. Amy said she finally had to cover her shirt by putting a bib on her (which she had on her when I got there). That way, Aiden stopped bothering her.

So tonight, I tried messing with her shirt. It didn't really bother her at all - she joined me in the fun. We patted her belly over and over again. She did stop playing eventually, but only to crawl into my lap. Awwwww.

With all the stuff going on at my job, it’s been really hard to come home and just enjoy things. It’s been a little stressful because my project is officially on hold. If it got cancelled, I would go back on the bench. We are all hoping that it is not on hold indefinitely, but you never know.

I actually did not pick up Reagan from LRS today. Since I took Reagan this morning, Jim was able to pick her and Jordan up. Yea! It was really nice being able to stay a little longer than usual. I did get home about the same time as Jim and the girls.

After they got home, we all got changed and went right back out the door to Max & Erma’s for dinner. We had a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it not to do dishes for the night. :) Reagan ate three jars of food while we ate our dinners. She played with Grampy most the time and was completely consumed by his glasses.

After we got home, we all quickly relaxed and Reagan headed to bed quite early. She started fussing about 8pm so I took her off to bed. And she actually fell asleep around 830pm. I was really amazed that she would go to bed early. She only got disturbed when I took her pacifier out from under her cheek but went back to sleep fairly easily. I must say that it really didn’t take me and Jim long to head for bed as well. We were all pretty tired.

I'm worn out

Reagan had a good day today. She slept through the night and so did I. She woke up fairly happy - at least happy for her. Jim picked her up at LRS since I had therapy on my ankle and had her all bundled up for me in the parking lot when I was done.

We went home and hung out all evening - just me and her. We played and played and then she ate and played some more. I don't think I sat down one time between the time I got to work and the time Jim got home from karate except to drive (and sit in meetings at work).

10 Months Old

OH MY GOSH!! Reagan is now officially 10 months old. Only two more months til Christmas and her birthday. Wow!

Winter already?

This morning Reagan wore her "winter coat" for the first time. It's a tan suede coat with white faux trim all over it and a hood. Yes she looked adorable in it. I can't believe that it was actually cold enough for me to get that out of the closet for her. Ugh. I really don't like winter. Not only that, but both Jim and I wore a coat today too. That is really odd for us (especially Jim). I hate having to wear a coat before Thanksgiving... I try so hard to stay in denial that the weather is turning cold. But this morning we had frozen bushes and frost all over the ground, so I couldn't ignore it. Oh well. :(

Blink

Jim taught her how to blink. I didn’t know you had to teach someone that. It was really cute. We were at the dinner table eating and Jim said “ok Reagan, Blink for mama” and then he blinked in an exaggerated fashion. She then copied him and blinked back. And of course, she does it with a HUGE grin on her face. Then after she blinks, she wants you to clap for her, so she starts clapping herself. “Yea Reagan”. At one point, I had my hand on her tray and she picked up my hand and started clapping my hands together. I guess I wasn’t clapping enough for her. How funny is that?

Getting around more

It is amazing how much babies can change in a matter of days. I was just saying to Emily last night that "I'm waiting for her to 'connect the rooms together in her mind'" and today she is doing that. Not only that, she is also just getting better at getting around from place to place. She is more willing to crawl over things and is also starting to remember where certain things are (like the dog bowl).

Playing with Puzzles

I put Reagan's number puzzle underneath the coffee table in the living room to see if she'd find it and then to see if she'd play with it. She found it today. Right now, Daddy is sitting on the floor with her putting the puzzle back together and she is watching curiously. Every time he puts it together, she turns it over and then dumps everything out again. She's so happy when she does it.
