I'm working with Maddy on rolling over. I rolled her gently from her back to her front today and she immediately pulled her head way up - almost perpendicular to the ground. It was awesome! She didn't seem to mind either. She was really looking around at the mat - all the different colors and shapes. Once her head started to fall some, I'd roll her back. She loved it.
She can dig her heal in and start doing the rolling motion, but gets stuck half way between. Her doctor said, it's just a matter of time before she figures out how to tuck her arm in on the way over. LOL

Maddy is LOUD
Today, I had Maddy on the floor mat in the basement. I had been moving her around and getting her rolling from back to front and front to back. Whenever I stopped, she would shriek and giggle. I wasn't sure if she liked it or not. But boy is she loud. She just started talking and didn't stop.
Reagan's first birthday party
Reagan was invited to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's. A little girl in her classroom was turning four and they were having a party. I wasn't really sure what to expect. We got there (late of course) with a present in tow.
The kids were already fanned out around the game area so we joined in. We were given a cup of coins and then told to go play. Reagan wanted to do everything. She didn't speak the whole time. She just pointed to things she wanted to do. I'm not sure if it was too loud for her - I really don't remember. I just remember her not talking. She did LOVE the air hockey table and the picture booth. She kicked my butt at air hockey (not really) and we took two pictures in the booth. We did some other miscellaneous things, but nothing really thrilled her. She walked around and just went from place to place. She wanted to dump her coins in everything. I tried to steer her towards things that would give her rewards. Funny thing - we ended up with a ton of extra coins. Oh well.
The girls were nice. Most of them were older than Reagan. Most of them were at least 3 1/2, if not four. I could tell she was the youngest. She was shy I think. She wanted to do some things, but I couldn't tell if she was just tired from being sick, or shy.
Oh well. All in all, it was a good experience for her. I enjoyed meeting some of the moms from her classroom. I loved watching her play.

Mommy gets a night out
Tonight, I went with my parents to see the NSO at FMBZ! Woo hooo! Jim took the kids (to Jordan's swim meet in Mason) while I got out of the house. After four months, I finally got time to myself. Real time, not grocery or workout with them screaming in the next room. Real time. Jim had them in another state. I had time to go for a walk and then shower (peacefully) and eat (a full meal) and then drive myself to the concert.
Here's the thing... I MISSED THEM! Geeez! Go figure. I thought about them the entire concert. I'm so used to having at least one of them by my side that I felt totally naked. :(
When I got home, I watched them both sleep. Reagan was so peaceful on her bean bag. Maddy was in her crib, but not swaddled. She was squirming a lot, so I watched very quietly. Ahhh. I can't imagine not having them. While I enjoyed getting some much needed "me" time, I didn't like being "single" even for a few hours. I love my girls!

Sleeping beauty
Maddy has not been a great napper, but she is a good sleeper. Every night about 8:15 or so, she starts to get a little restless. For the most part, we can take her upstairs and start our bedtime routine. We started reading books (which she loves) and saying our prayers before eating and putting her down. Every once in a while, she doesn't settle down. That is usually because she takes too many naps during the day.

Maddy's four months already
Maddy had her four month appointment today. She did great. The doc even said her head was "perfect" this time - no flattening on either side. (woo hoo). She was 26 inches (95%), 16 lbs (75%) and her head was about the 50th%. It's funny - Reagan was off the charts in both height and weight. :) The doctor said she was doing great and to keep it up. We could also start solids soon, but he suggested waiting til closer to 6 months since I had such bad allergies.
The funny thing was the shots/vaccines that she got. The nurse gave me the dropper with tylenol in it. She took that great for me. She came in next with another oral vaccine and then two shots. The oral vaccine was hilarious. She did NOT like it at all. She kept making faces and jerking her head away from the nurse. She was laughing. The shots weren't so funny. She ended up not liking those too much, but didn't cry that long. She was fine after a few seconds. Thank goodness.
She did, however, sleep wonderfully in the afternoon. She was tired from the shots. :)

Bouncer
Maddy loves her bouncer. I think she actually likes the bouncer more than the exersaucer. She fits better. Today we put her in it and she had started to bounce a bit. She just giggled and kicked. So awesome to watch. She's getting so big.
Sick kid again
I took Maddy in for her four month checkup today and started asking the doctor about Reagan. He suggested I bring her in to get checked for strep. So I made an appointment for this afternoon. Guess what - she does! Holy cow.
Here's the weird thing. Reagan has had these "knots" on her neck (both sides) for a few months. The doctors have said that it's due to infection and not to worry. Only worry if they become more swollen and warm to the touch. Well, they were today.
So during the visit, the doctor suggested lab work. Sigh... I have no idea what he is testing for, but typically it's for cancer or some other lingering or severe infection. I am just SICK thinking about cancer in a three year old, let alone mine!
I am so scared that there is something really wrong. My mom said to pray. I am and have been since I heard that. I am just so scared. Please God don't let anything be wrong with my angel!

Look ma, I can sit up
Maddy is starting to really do well in her bumbo seat. Now when I put her in it, she starts to shake and move her hands towards the toy before I even get her set up. It's hilarious. She gets so excited. I love it. She works so hard to pull that toy out of the tray without ever getting it out. She opens up her mouth likes it's going to get there. So cute. Today I felt bad and actually gave it to her. She tried to find a way to get it into her mouth. Every once in a while, she'd look at me like "really mom?" SO cute!

Chillin'
Maddy has a funny thing about her sleeping. When she's on you, she likes to put her hands behind her head. Sometimes she will actually fall asleep that way. It's funny. I have several pictures of her laying like that in her bouncy seat, on her play mat and also sleeping on either one of us. So cute.

Size three diapers
She's already in size three diapers. Doesn't seem right, but she is... :( She's growing too fast for me. Sniff sniff.

sick little girl update
Called the doctor this morning. He said it sounded like croop which is a viral bug. Nice. Keep the baby and her away from each other - no physical contact. Nice that is impossible.
sick little girl
Reagan started coughing and wheezing tonight. I'm worried that she has the whooping thing. She ended up having to join Jim and me in the basement during our movie night. Right now, she's in our bed with Jim and I am out here on the couch. Divide and conquer!
