Time to get the walker out
Maddy is getting so big. I think we've actually done things a tad slower with her because I'm not home with her. But today, we got out the walker for her. We decided that we were actually going to take down the swing in the living room - we never use it. She has never liked being swung back and forth much. I think it messes with her ears or something. Since we have all the moving toys out now, we are finding that it's time to put some of the other stuff away. Sniff sniff. She's getting big. :)
Miss Talkative
Reagan is SO talkative. She is using so many phrases and concepts that I am just amazed with her. She is so inquisitive and is constantly asking clarifying questions to help her finish a process. She has also picked up on my mannerisms and little sayings - she likes to copy me. Her favorites are "excuse me?" with a certain look and "shut your mouth". Whoops on that last one.

Four times in a week
Okay. We were told by the nurse at Children's that we had to take Maddy back to the doctor today because she was wheezing. Sigh. I'm so sick of being at the doctor with this kid. She's FINE! Anyway, they were convinced that she had some asthma type thing going on and she would need ongoing treatment. So Jim took her to the doctor. This makes it FOUR TIMES IN A WEEK. How ridiculous is that!? The doctor said she was fine. Jim went home happy.
The girls get new car seats
Today, we went to go purchase a new car seat for Reagan. Maddy needed to move up and so did Reagan. So we figured we'd get the new one for Reagan and just move Maddy. Reagan was so excited once she realized it was all for her. It took me and Jim about an hour to get my car moved around. We went to go run errands and when Reagan saw her new carseat, she flipped. It was cute. She loved the cubbies and the cup holder.
Maddy loved her new seat. She kept looking around and kicking her little feet like she was excited. She fell asleep promptly after we started moving. I guess she was pretty comfortable. :) Yea Maddy.

Beef?
Maddy tried beef and some veggie combination tonight and did not like it one bit. Jim was a bit sad by this, but he got over it. He loves to try new foods with her.
Ear tubes for #2
Today, we went to Children's to get Maddy's ear tubes put in. She actually almost didn't get the procedure done because of her cough. We had several office visits and multiple people listen to her chest - they all said it was fine. No croup. No fluid in the lungs. Just a cough. Okay.
Today, the nurses heard differently. They checked her and heard wheezing. Nuts. Are you kidding? So they did a breathing treatment and it went away. The good thing is that her blood oxy level was at 100%. The plus "she looked good" seemed to convince the doctor's to move forward.
It was hard to let her go, but it was easier than with Reagan. We knew Children's and the doctor and the procedure was short and sweet. When we met with the doctor, he said that her ears were small and it was very gunky. She had lots of thick fluid that took a while to drain. That's what happened with Reagan. Not surprised. He actually said that she would have never cleared on antibiotics or on her own - it was too much draining to absorb into her body.
We got back to recovery and she was cranky! She sucked down 8 ounces of fluids and still was really cranky. Once we got moving, she was okay. I carried her down to the pharmacy to pick up some Tylenol. Yea! She fell asleep pretty fast on the ride home. I got home with her about 4:15 pm. She and I took a quick nap and took off to get Reagan.
She's sleeping again. I guess she'll need to sleep quite a bit in the next 24 hours.

Maddy loves to stand
I'm not sure why, but Maddy LOVES to stand up. She gets frustrated with sitting and wants to either stand on me or be walked around. It's hilarious. I didn't understand at first, but she wants to be mobile and apparently she does this at school quite a bit. So whenever she gets frustrated (grunting loudly), I pick her up and let her stand on me or something else. It's so funny to see her standing... she's not even eight months old yet.

She's looking for me now
It's been seven months and she's finally starting to look for me. She knows who I am and when I'm near, she wants me. It's nice. I'm loving it. I love it when she looks at me and for me. She's probably hard-wired a daddy's girl, but I'm loving the new desire to be with me. :)
Sleeping in her bed
Tonight, she is asleep in her bed. It's nice. I'm hoping that she stays in there tonight. Here's to hoping.
Maddy and Reagan
Today we had a nice trip to Louisville. We went to watch Joseph get baptized at church this morning. Funny thing - I left late and got there just on time. My dad waited for me at the door and took the kids in. It was nice. I parked, ran to the bathroom and still made it to see him get baptized. The best part - Eric did it just like Zach. Cool huh?
Anyway, Reagan had a blast at Eric's house. She played and played. I sat Maddy up on a blanket and let her hang out. She eventually went to sleep. We had a nice day.
On the way home, I had to stop twice - once to feed Maddy and the other time to take Reagan to the bathroom. At least my parents were following me - it made stopping much easier. They stayed in the car with Maddy while I took Reagan to the bathroom.
The rest of the way home was quiet. Both girls fell asleep. Reagan actually asked for her blanket and snugglies and then snuggled up to her seat and closed her eyes. Wow.
