I'm playing catch
When the heck did she learn how to throw and catch a ball. I don't mean whiz it by your head kinda throw. I mean a good throw. Not only can she play catch with me, but she can throw it way up and catch it herself. Wow. She's pretty good.

Crawling soon?
We keep hearing from her school that they are working with her on crawling. When we get her home, she's content to sit. When we try to get her up on all fours, she either falls on her face, or slowly go to her belly and just kick her legs like she's swimming.
Tonight, we were working with her again. We put things out of reach when she's sitting up. She will pull herself forward to reach the item. She will roll to get something that she really wants. No movement yet though. I'm waiting. She's impatient a bit - I am surprised she hasn't figured it out yet. But I guess we are getting to a point that she's going to start moving.
She does pull up pretty well. She wants to be standing and can't stand to be still. Soon... very soon.

We have a tooth everyone
Wow. I just noticed the two white lines on her gums the other day. The last two days, I've wondered why nursing was getting "interesting". I put my finger in her mouth to feel "the lines" and found a tooth. WOW!!! Bottom left front tooth = #1 for Maddy.

My Reagan my angel
Reagan is three now. Almost three and a half. She's getting so big. She's gotten so tall. Every time I look at her, I marvel at the fact that she's changed so much. She's no longer a baby, but a beautiful little girl.
She has a great laugh and a pretty smile. She cocks her head and tilts it to the side when shes' trying to convince you to do something. She's picked up on all my wonderful mannerisms - for good or bad, she's a lot like me. She's horribly impatient, but super loving and sweet.
She's my baby and always will be. I love watching her grow. I love the fact that she loves me and thinks I'm the best thing. I hope she feels that way forever. Sigh, I know she won't. But I hope that what I teach her will last her lifetime.
My baby. My love. My Reagan!

Get my kids! ahhhh
Tonight, I left work and proceeded to drive to get Reagan and then get Maddy. As soon as I got on 275, I saw a sign that said "accident at "my exit", all lanes blocked". REALLY!? Couldn't they have posted that sooner. Needless to say, the sign was right. I fought to get off at the exit before. I jumped off there and there were two more accidents.
I called mom and dad and they, of course, jumped right on the rescue mission. Jim was downtown on an interview, so he couldn't help. Bummer. So by 530pm, I still wasn't anywhere close to Reagan. But, my mom called and said she was a block from her. Whew.
My dad was on the way to Maddy. I was actually able to get to Maddy by 6pm, but barely. When I got there, Maddy was happy to see me. She was ready for mama. She knew the timing was off. Poor thing. I'm glad she missed me. I felt better when I had her in my arms.

Pink Pillow Pet
Tonight, Reagan went to bed in Reagan fashion. Not so easy. We take a bath, we read books, we say our prayers and we go to sleep... well, she doesn't really go to sleep. She stays up to read and play in bed. Well, tonight, after two hours, she figured out she didn't have her pink pillow pet. She left it at my parents. I knew that and had asked Jim to go get it on his ice cream run.
When she freaked out, I asked Jim where it was. He didn't bother to get it. Why the heck doesn't anyone listen to me!!! So I had to call, wake up my dad and then go get it. He laughed. Jim just complained. But the funny thing is that he doesn't and won't stay awake with her when she's up and down. So I got the pillow pet from my dad.
Reagan went right to sleep. Damn if I'm right!

Things about Maddy
She's starting saying baba and making the sign for it. We're not sure she totally gets it, but she might. She asks for Daddy. Cries for Mommy. Loves her sisters a lot. She LOVES to sit in her walker - we're waiting for her to figure out how to walk in it. Hates to swing. Loves to play. Loves to stand even more and chew. She can't sit still. She loves her red fox and gets cranky when she's bored or tired.
She loves her daycare. She loves Rita a lot. I'm glad. She makes me feel comfortable. I love listening to her wake up so happy in the morning. She's never mad unless she's sick. She has an infectious laugh - you can't help laughing when she does. She loves to be tickled and loves to play with your face.
I think the thing I like most about feeding her is she looks at me. She watches my eyes and plays with my face and lips. If my eyes smile, she smiles back. If she grunts, I grunt back. I love her.

Teeth?
Holy Cow! I think she's got buds coming through soon. I was able to see into her mouth for the first time when she yawned. I saw two white lines on her bottom gums. Holy Cow! She's had a couple of white marks on her gums for a while - one on top, one on bottom. But I'm convinced she's getting teeth soon.

Ms. detailed
She looks at everything. She isn't content to just be picked up and hang out. She has to look around. She also gets super frustrated when she can't see or reach something. Its really neat to watch her strain to see things. O love her curiosity.

Memory is impressive
I read Reagan a book tonight on dinosaurs and I was shocked by her memory. As soon as I turned the last page, she started talking about the fine details of the book. The number of mean dinosaurs vs. the nice ones. Happily ever after and more things that I was just amazed by.
I find that really interesting because it goes hand in hand with what her teacher said - she's got a great memory. Shockingly good. Uh oh!

Good morning mobile
This morning about 6:30 am, I heard a crash from Maddy's room. I figured it was something she had thrown over her bed. I got up, took a shower and then went upstairs to feed her. Nope - it was the mobile. She had pulled it down over top of her. It was lying across her body and legs. She was laughing. Thank goodness it didn't land higher - it would have cracked her in the head. Guess it's time to lower the mattress.
Broccoli and apples?
Really? That's a good combo? I tried it with Maddy. She was okay with it, but after about six bites, she held her lips together. Ha ha
Mango rocks
Apparently Mango Rocks! I picked up some new organic foods for Maddy to try and she enjoyed mango the best. I usually try to give her a fruit and a dinner at night. She gets frustrated about half way through the dinner jar, so we mix in the fruit. Once I started with the mango, there was no going back. Literally! She refused to eat the dinner and screamed for the mango. If she saw me pick up the container, she'd hush up. I was amazed.
I gave some to Reagan and she liked it too. Yea - new fruit for this house.

Object permanence
Today, we realized that Maddy had hit the "object permanence" milestone. My mom had left her glasses on the table at the restaurant. Maddy, of course, wanted them. She reached for them and my mom immediately picked them up and moved them out of her sight. We thought anyway. She immediately turned around and started looking for them. Guess she's hit that milestone. :)
Daddy's spa
Maddy's got a new bath tub... at least for now. Jim put in a new sink and faucet this weekend. It's huge! One side is considerable larger than the other and much deeper than our original sink. It is the perfect size for a little bath for Maddy. Not only that, the faucet is really high which makes it nice to rinse her hair. He actually leaned her back over the hump in the middle to rinse her hair. She kicked her feet up and just chilled out while he rinsed her hair. Now she's playing with her toys and trying to pull up.
Going out
Jim and I went to the Pinnacle function last night. We took a ride on the Cincinnati Dinner Train through scenic Cincy. The train rode about 10 mph and wobbled back and forth. I discovered pretty quickly that the slow movement messed with my eyes. Odd. I just didn't look out the window. We enjoyed the company and loved the fact that we were out for the evening without the kids.
My parents came up at 5pm to hang out with the kids. When we got home, the living room was littered with toys and mom was asleep in the guest bed upstairs. All was quiet. Dad was sitting down on the couch watching a movie just enjoying the quiet I bet.
They had a great time playing with the kids. I could tell by the living room.

up all night
Maddy woke up last night. Ugh. She never went to sleep in her own bed. It was kinda nice because I like sleeping near her. But, it makes it tough to sleep well. She woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. I held her for a while. Each time I tried to move or put her down, she's stir. So I just held her. By 6am, I was done. I put her down and waited. She didn't want to sleep, but I sure did. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night at all. I hope she sleeps tonight. I think her little cold is keeping her from breathing well. Poor kiddo.
