Good morning mobile

This morning about 6:30 am, I heard a crash from Maddy's room. I figured it was something she had thrown over her bed. I got up, took a shower and then went upstairs to feed her. Nope - it was the mobile. She had pulled it down over top of her. It was lying across her body and legs. She was laughing. Thank goodness it didn't land higher - it would have cracked her in the head. Guess it's time to lower the mattress.

Time to get the walker out

Maddy is getting so big. I think we've actually done things a tad slower with her because I'm not home with her. But today, we got out the walker for her. We decided that we were actually going to take down the swing in the living room - we never use it. She has never liked being swung back and forth much. I think it messes with her ears or something. Since we have all the moving toys out now, we are finding that it's time to put some of the other stuff away. Sniff sniff. She's getting big. :)

Maddy is rockin'

Maddy has moved up with her Exersaucer. She is mastering the turn and pulling all things that move. She is able to literally bend all the things over completely. It's hilarious to watch her work at it. She loves her toy. We actually had to move the height up for her - she's getting too tall for it. :)

Playing with cool stuff

Since Maddy has been sitting up, she's getting to play with the cool toys. She's got her little piano, her alphabet spin wheel and tons of balls and blocks to play with. Most of this stuff came from Reagan, but there are a few things that we got when Maddy was born. It's cool to see her playing with Reagan's old toys. Sniff sniff. She's getting so big.

Sitting up so well

Tonight, we had Maddy on the floor and she was sitting up like a pro! So amazing how fast she she got that figured out. Now I know that she's been working on that for a long time. But, from the time we tried it on Friday to today, she nailed it. Wow.

Since she's sitting up so well, it opens up a whole new world of toys for her. I have a ton of stuff for "sitters". I've actually brought out all the cool stuff. She loves them all. She just cracks me up with how happy she gets when she sees the new toys. I love it.

Day Two without hubby

Last night, Reagan and I went to the cool toy store in Crestview to see what stuff we could get into. I found this really cool toy faucet that pulls the water from the tub so you don't have to run the water from the real faucet and waste a ton of water (and money).

I put it together after a few trips up and down the steps looking for batteries and a screw driver. I was WONDERFUL! Oh my. This thing pulls water up from the bottom of the tub and spits it back out. It's got some nifty cups with different types of holes in them. She had a blast. Matter of fact, she flipped out when I told her it was time to get out.

That was a really good $15 spent!

New kitchen in the living room

Today, during Reagan's nap, I put her new Ikea kitchen together with some help from Jim. When we got Reagan up from her nap, we brought her downstairs to see what she'd do. Nothing - she sat in front of it and didn't really react at all. Well, until Jim started playing in it. Then she was ALL over it!

She served us all sorts of food. Cooked some crazy stuff. We had gotten her utensils and then I got some ramicans from our cupboard and set her up some serving dishes. She played forever. I think she would have played all night except we had to go out to eat.

I'm glad she likes it.

Way too many toys

So, I was finally working on my pictures today and saw this picture. I believe the child has WAY TOO MANY TOYS!

She's figured it out

Reagan got the Fisher-Price Bounce and Spin Zebra toy for her birthday. When she got it, she was a tad too short for it so we stuck the box downstairs and waited til she got taller. So this past weekend, we put it up. She really didn't have much interest in it. Jim and I weren't completely impressed with the graphics - they seemed pretty lame. But I figured since it was one of the "best of" toys, I'd give it a whirl.

Tonight was the third or fourth time she played on it. She plays on it well without the TV component, but I thought I'd try it tonight.

She figured it out! After a few minutes of me showing her the buttons and interactive items on the horse, she quickly figured out how to play with it. She spun the rattle thing in the middle to get the music to play (just so she could dance). She bounced to get the other animals to pop up.

While the graphics were cheezy, I was totally impressed that she figured out the "cause and effect" part of the whole experience so fast. Even better, she wouldn't get off. Wow!

Jordan's basketball

Uh oh - Reagan LOVES Jordan's basketball. How hilarious is that. She saw it in Jordan's room last night and went right to it. She wanted to play with it. She giggled and laughed kicked with delight. I couldn't believe how much she enjoyed it.

This morning, I went upstairs to wake her up about 8am. The first thing she saw was the basketball and, of course, it was the first thing she wanted. She called for that ball over and over again. I let her play with it for a minute before I changed her diaper. She screamed the whole time pointing at the ball. "Ba.. baa.. ball"

I took her and the ball downstairs and she was still having a fit. She didn't calm down for a few minutes until she was just "chillin' with the bball". Oh geez.

Toys for tots

This weekend proved to me that Reagan is ready for older toys. I've known that for a while, but have a little reluctant to invest more money without being sure. While we were in Alabama, she played with John's and Katie's toys. She also played in the church nursery with some things that I was amazed at.

Because I was so impressed, Jordan and I went out last night to Target and purchased "Parents Busy Zoo". It was one of the things that she played with quite a bit and was really fascinated by. It has a ton of stuff on it for her to play with and learn a tons of stuff. I really hope it is worth the money spent. :)

My new camera has a cool zoom

I did get some really cool pictures while Aunt Lee was holding onto Reagan for me. I got a new camera before this trip that apparently has an incredible zoom on it. I wanted something that I could get pictures of Jordan playing ball. The camera I had couldn’t get any close ups of her and it was very frustrating. So here are some cool examples of my new zoom capabilities. Woo hooo. I love it.

A house on the beach from where I was standing.

The close up with the zoom at 100%.

Oil rig out in the bay

Close up.

Loving the camera!

Big Day - New Toys for the Carmans

Today was a big day for us. I got my hair done :) and Jim bought a brand new television. Oh yea, and I got a new camera. It was an expensive day I guess. Hmmm.

So, Jim got this: Samsung 52" TV

I got this: A new haircut, not but I really did get this: a camera

Not only that, but I was able to get a little "me" time today which was much needed. I took off and left eh girls with Jim and went shopping. I was able to mark a few things off my list finally. Woo hoo.

Jump Up

She’s really getting the hang of her jumparoo. I think she spent over 30 minutes in it by herself this morning. She gets in that thing and just starts kicking her legs and cooing and laughing. I believe that this toy is her favorite.

Johnny Jumper!

Woo hooo. She did it! Oh My Gosh. Reagan JUMPED! SHE JUMPED!!!! She just started moving her feet tonight for some reason. I wonder if it’s because of the doggies – she gets all excited when she sees both of them. She started dancing and moving and kicking. So I got into it, the dogs came over and we all just played. She JUMPED after a while which just amazed me. What happened? I got video of it (of course) and tons of pictures. I also called Jim up from the basement. I just couldn’t believe it. She probably played in it for about 20 minutes.

Exersaucer fun

She’s really growing and changing. It’s amazing. Some days I pay really close attention, others I don’t. Today, she was playing very intently with the toys on her exersaucer. Looking and grabbing for the toys and watching them move with her hands. It’s really cool to watch her grow!

Jumping in her new toy

It’s fitting. She started jumping in it today. She’s starting to get the hang of it I think. I can’t wait till she gets it really going. The cool thing about this toy is that everytime she moves, it makes jungle noises. My favorite is the monkey one. Hmmm

Jumparoo

I put her Jumparoo together this afternoon. I agree it is excessive for her, but I didn’t care. When I saw her in it at Emily’s, I had to go buy it for her. Oh well. Anyway, it went together really fast and she cooed the whole time. Once it was done, I scooped her up and put her right down in the middle. She loved it. She kept reaching up for the stuff hanging from the tops. She’s not really quite tall enough for it, but she will be soon.

Mr. Moose

Jim and I went to Biggs tonight and Ms. Reagan was a hoot. First of all, she finally grabbed the moose! Woo hoo. I heard the buzzing sound that the mouse makes when it’s pulled. I looked at the cart and saw her pulling at one of the moose’s legs. IT was awesome.
She also had started to get a little fussy in the store, so we started just making silly noises at her. She laughed the whole way through the store. It was hilarious!! She’d giggle, then chuckle some. Just so cute.

Jump and Go

Jim and I decided that we wanted to get Reagan a jumper, but I just didn’t want another bulky thing in the living room. He said that Jordan had one that hung in the doorway… needless to say, I found one I liked and now we have it.
She seems to like it. She’s already gotten herself turned around in it a few times. She stayed in it about 15 minutes before she started fussin to get out.
