GeeGee is watching us

Something I forgot to mention on Friday that is important. After leaving Five Seasons, I heard the sound of a bird chirping. It was very distinct and pretty. I turned around and it was a cardinal.

My thoughts immediately went to my Grandma – known as Geegee. She loved the University of Lousiville Cardnials – whether it was basketball or football, it didn’t matter. I just felt at that moment that she was looking in on my life and checking in on Reagan.

BeBe Seat

Today was a busy day for us – we spent a lot of time in the car and out of the house. We got up a tad late (because I needed to sleep in) and had a slow start to the day. We ate and played on the floor like we usually do and then packed up and got in the car to run some errands. I put her in her BeBe seat tonight and she did a little better in it. She went after the rattle/toy that is attached to the tray and spun it around. After about 5 minutes, she is done. While we were out today, she decided that she wanted to chew/suck on her clothes. When we got home, they were wet with slober… too cute.

Can she sit up yet?

Today Reagan tried to “sit up” while Jim was holding her. He was just amazed that she was trying to do that. After she kept trying to sit up, we decided to get our her BebePod seat to see if she would sit up in that. I am not really sure if she was too fond of it, but she did sit up just fine.
She is also making more sounds lately. Today she was making the “r” sound and some more vowel sounds. I just love to watch her coo and “talk” to me.

Big Day

Today, I put on her bear outfit that her daddy picked out at JCP. It has bears on the feet of the outfit which is just adorable. After three days of watching her just grab things like crazy, I have determined that she is a lefty – she has to be. She uses her left hand almost exclusively. Here’s to hoping.
She's done so much today it just amazes me.
1) She is grabbing on to everything including my hair. Oh my – now I know why people cut their hair short after having a baby.
2) I had her on the changing table and she moved her bear mobile. I thought at first it was an accident, so I put the mobile back to where it was to see what she would do. She moved it again. Wow! Her hands were closed and she batted at it until it moved and then she smiled.
3) She tried to sit up today after I fed her. She was trying to get a look at the TV which cracks me up. She tried twice and finally just turned her head towards the TV.

First Visit at Grammy and Grampy's

She’s really starting to be able to grab things a lot better. She and I sat up and just played with her toy. We laughed and cheered when she grabbed her toy. She went to hang out with Grammy and Grampy today to give me a little bit of free time to shop.

It was really nice to just “pop into” a store. I never get to do that anymore. While I was there, I visited the kids department and found an adorable toy – a “Taggie Elephant”. I had not heard of this brand of toy, but she loves it. When I got back to Grammy and Grampy’s house, she was being well entertained and seemed to be quite happy.

Daylight Savings Time

Today is really the first day I’m going to try to move her schedule back an hour. I hope she handles it well. So far, she’s not being successful at her morning nap. She’s been fussing on and off for about 30 minutes. I’m just waiting for her to “explode). She isn’t quite there yet, but it’s coming... No rest for the weary.

Apples already?

Jim gave her a taste of an apple today. I wasn’t too happy about it, but he said her reaction was really funny. So yes, I watched and recorded the episode. She got reeeaaally excited after she tasted it. *crossed fingers* I hope she’s not allergic. LOL. ;)

Today I noticed a few things about Ms. Reagan
1) Her hair is changing. I’ve seen a few longer strands at the crown of her head, but they seem to be multiplying. Could it be that her hair is growing? Of course, but it only seems to be growing in one spot. J
2) She’s grabbing things better. She’s opening up her hands and moving her hand toward objects more easily. She hasn’t quite gotten the hang of grabbing things consistently (it’s a tad early for that), but it is really excited to watch her actually grab something when she tries.
