This afternoon, Reagan was cracking me up. She had found yet another new trick - smacking her lips. I thought I heard it on the way home but really didn’t think that she was able to do that. But to my surprise, I had heard exactly that.

Some other cool stuff form today – she’s now propping herself up (when she topples over) and waving both arms up and down now.

Today was my first day at EES. It was an interesting day – one huge meeting. I was able to meet most of the folks on the team and also some clients as well.
Reagan was quite talkative after I picked her up and kept motioning towards her bouncer. So I put in some Baby Einstein and let her bounce for a while. While we were playing on the floor she started placing things on the coffee table. How cute.

Little Muscles

She is my little muscle girl. Tonight she was playing on the floor and displayed such strength that I was amazed. While she was on her belly, she pulled the piano over to herself, crawled up on it and rolled it. She did all of that while she was on her belly. Then when she was done with that, she pushed it aside and then pulled herself over to the leather toy box. She can reach up from her belly and pull the entire thing over – dumping out the toys. Wow.

I got placed and left early

Some good news today - I got placed. As soon as I got that news, I asked to leave work early to get my kid. I picked Reagan up at 3pm and went home to play with her. She seemed pretty happy to see me. She was waving at me when I got to LRS. So cute. After we got home, we played on the floor for a while. She is just so talkative anymore. Every day it seems like she's got a new sound.

We eventually went upstairs to take a nap. When I say “we”, I mean it. I had full intentions to go upstairs and nap while holding her in the rocker. She wasn’t really quite ready to sleep, so we played some. We played “Piggies” and “Peekaboo”. When I was “done”, I tried to just lay my head back and just be quiet. Most of the time that works with her – she gets the clue to settle down and go to sleep. Today it was different. She kept making her noises. She kept talking. I finally looked down at her and she was smiling so big. I just couldn’t help but laugh with her. I didn’t start playing with her again until she started playing “peekaboo” with me. Yes, with me. She’d put her snuggly up over her face and then jerk it down really fast. After a couple times, I started interacting with her. “Where’s Reagan” I’d ask. Needless to say, it was a long time before we napped. But we did nap.

Be smarter than the machine

Whoops - I woke up late today. I hate it when I do that. I'm trying to find the right activity balance now that I've been back at work and it's been hard to do that. I'm so used to be very active on the weekends and being able to rest some during the week. I can't do that anymore.
While I was at work, I realized how important caffeine can be to somebody without a lot of sleep. I had forgotten to sign a document for my 401K account and had been asked to refax it to the office. So I did. I thought. First of all, the fax machine was different than what I had used before. Usually they all work the same, but sometimes they don't. There was a really big button with the word "fax" next to it, so I figured "enter the phone number and hit the fax button". All it did was beep at me. It didn't fax, just beeped. Hmmm. After about three tries, I saw the "start" button. I thought "come on, be smarter than the fax machine". Yea - I was supposed to use the start button. Hmmm

Fever

Today we have a lot of birthdays to celebrate. My dad (Grampy), Uncle Craig and Joan all have the same one. We had a lazy day getting ready for the family to show up. After everyone got here, we had a nice grill out and opened presents. Unfortunately, Reagan wasn’t feeling so hot. She had a fever of 101.4 and she was cranky. Mom helped me upstairs give her some Tylenol and put her in the bath. I was really having a tough time with it. She never gets sick and now she was. Ugh. Grammy had to show me how to get medicine down a kid’s throat that wanted nothing to do with medicine. OMG. IT’s horrible. But it worked. She held her arms, squeezed her cheeks. All the while, Reagan screamed so loud. Once she dropped the stuff in her mouth, she covered her nose for a second which forced her to swallow. UGH. It worked. She calmed down.
