Easy morning

This morning I slept in a tad. Reagan got up at 730 and babbled for a little while before Jim went to get her. He came in the bedroom with the babbling baby and the rowdy dogs and I begged for 10 more minutes. He complied and took all three noisemakers out of the room. Thirty minutes later, I emerged from the room. I wasn’t really anymore rested because of the noise level in the house, but still rested. Reagan and Jim were hanging out on the floor playing with toys and the dogs were already laying down. I made my way into the kitchen – in a zombie-like fashion – to find coffee. I eventually gave up and asked Jim to take care of it for me. So I walked back into the living room and traded with Jim. Now I have my coffee. J Thank goodness for liquid energy.

Trying to Crawl

Emily and Paul came over tonight to visit. Their little boy, Sean, is crawling all over the place. It’s so funny to watch him just go because Reagan just doesn’t [go]. As Paul says, “she’s anchored [to the floor]”. I said “well anchored”. She tried multiple times to pull on his ears and grab him. He would just crawl. She did bonk him on the head with her little tin drum. Poor Sean. He had already taken a fall earlier that day and had a knot on his head. Reagan gave him a red mark on his forehead by shoving the popcorn tin into his head. Geez. So the funny thing is, Reagan is trying to crawl. She gets so mad. She can scoot backwards and turn around, but she won’t go forward yet.

Hanging out

Last night was really rough for Reagan. She had stayed up late due to a really late nap and gotten up a total of four times in the middle of the night. I think she didn’t sleep well because she is so stuffy and snotty. I feel so bad for her. All day, I’ve had to wipe her little nose. When I don’t, because she bats me away, she ends up with the ugliest crusty nose. It is so gross. Jim and I worked out for the first time in a while during her morning nap. We did the plyometric workout (or tried) from the P90X series. I had told Jim I wanted to sweat and boy did we. My legs were very wobbly after only 30 minutes.
We got a reprieve from our workout when Reagan woke up halfway through. I think silently Jim and I were both relieved we didn’t have to do the whole hour.
We took off after our workout and went to visit Grammy and Grampy. We don’t go to their house very often – they tend to want to come to our house. It was a really nice change of pace to just chill out over there. It got me out of the house and Reagan seemed to just have a ball.
This morning was different for me. I knew no-one was going to be at the office until about 9 or 930am. Half the team I work with does not work on Friday’s at all. And others were on vacation. So I decided to relax this morning and just play with Reagan in the morning and take her in later. I got into work and there wasn’t anyone there until about 10am. Ugh. I spent a lot of time reading and working on a status report. I had a meeting at 2pm with my colleague and he then left at 230pm. After that, I was it. So I finished my work and took off about 3pm. I went by the Pinnacle office and then picked up Reagan at 4pm.

When I got there, she was sleeping. She was so darn cute – when she stirred, she grabbed onto her snuggly. After talking with the teachers, I finally woke her up and took off. I was ready to get home. Jim had to get to the karate school for a black belt test and I really wanted to see him before he left for the night.
He took off at 530 or so and it was me and the baby. She and I were both tired about 630pm. I took her upstairs to rock her to sleep and we both slept in the rocking chair for the next two hours – Oops. I had to wake her up even after I stood up. She was OUT! It was really nice just having her to myself. I really miss that. We stayed up watching a girl flick (which I don’t do) and tucked her in about 11pm. Good night all!

Wakey Wakey

This morning I decided I was going to wake up my little stinkerbutt because I really feel like I haven't seen her since the weekend. The last two days Jim has woken her up after I've left for work and I haven't gotten to see her untnil I got home. After work on Tuesday I felt so horrible that I laid on the couch - not really able to play with her. She was so happy to see me I think. I got upstairs and turned on the light and when I leaned over the crib, she looked up and smiled. It just really starts my day well when I get to see her face like that. Jim still took her to school, but I got to wake her and feed her before they took off. Off to work. :)

Diaper Rash UGH

When we got home from school, I took Reagan upstairs to change her and she was not happy. She had a serious case of diaper rash. It was so bad that she tried to shut her legs so I could wipe her off. She was swollen and unhappy. Poor thing. I did finally get her wiped off and caked on the diaper rash cream. Wow. I’ve never seen that. So the rest of the night, we really watched her diapers. Every time she was the slightest bit wet, we changed her. She wasn’t happy but we are hoping that she is better in the morning.

I had to run to the store to get some stuff for dinner and while I was gone, the little thing passed out on the floor with Jim. I got home and the tv was off, the classical music was on and Jim was working on the computer right next to her. She was sleeping well – and did for about an hour. Wow.

Despite her rash, she had a very hearty appetite today. She had eaten and slept well at school during the day. At night, she ate four jars of food. Geez. After that I took her upstairs to let her sit in a cool bath. I figured that might help her bottom half feel a little better. She talked the entire time she was in the bath and splashed like crazy. She got going so fast (splashing the water) that I was soaked by the end of her bath. I did get a video or two which I’ll post later.

Some stuff that I really noticed today was her sitting cross-footed (or her version of cross-legged) and smiling with squinted eyes. She will laugh like she normally does (with an absolutely huge grin) and then she’ll squint her eyes. It just cracks me. She’s also saying a new word today - “bu bu bu” not “ba ba ba”.
