Last night was a little rough – I had to get up with her a few times. She’d cry out, but then be asleep when I’d get upstairs. If she didn’t have a cold (again), then I would probably let it go. But I worry too much to do that I guess. She was a happy thing all day though. She’d get really cranky when she was tired, but she played hard. We walked around two different houses today with both the girls. Jordan opted out of the first one to hang out with a friend that lived near the model, but Reagan stayed with us – not that she had a choice. She was fast asleep and stayed that way the entire way through the first house. She was up for the second house, but was still kinda sleepy. The first house was amazing. The owners had taken a smaller rectangular shaped Fort Mitchell home and added an L-shaped addition to the house with equaled anywhere from 850K to 1.2M. Wow. It was absolutely amazing. The stuff in the house wasn’t over the top at all, it was just nicely done and very tasteful. The two cool things about the home were the wallpaper – a thatch texture painted all white. It was stunning and elegant. I loved it. The other was the garage. The owner had fine taste in older cars and had outfitted an elongated two-car garage to accommodate 8 vehicles. Wow! It had two lifts at the back of the garage which held an old-Mercury and a Corvette. Nice huh.
We did watch her do some neat stuff today. She went from all fours (not crawling) back to a seated position. She started pulling up in a sturdier fashion on all her toys and us. The bad thing is when she pulls up on non-sturdy stuff, she pulls the toys on top of her. Thank goodness she doesn’t freak out easily. She loves to beat on her tin drum. We also tried using a sippy cup with her tonight. We bought three different kinds and none of them worked real well, but we’ll try again soon.

Today was a good day. She seems to be growing each and every day. She’s making tons of sounds and is seems to recognize me quickly (and is happy to see me) when I pick her up from LRS. She’s not quite crawling yet, but she is pushing backwards to get places. She also can pull herself over onto all fours from a seated position to get to something. That just means she is getting restless and is no longer content to just sit somewhere and wait for the toys to be brought to her. Yea!!!!!
Puking in the bath
Tonight, we went upstairs to take a bath. I’m slowing getting that into her nightly routine, even if there is no soap in the water. Tonight she was as she was the last time, bouncy and happy. She splashed and splashed and splashed. She made suds of soap that had died down and just had a ball. I routinely use a pail (made for bath times) to rinse her off. She loves it because the water comes down towards her and she tries to grab it or splash it. Tonight she did something different – she leaned forward into the stream of water. Yep- she got a mouthful. She freaked. Her eyes bugged out, and almost instantly she puked up her entire dinner. Poor thing. She didn’t cry once but she was definitely freaked out. She just reached up almost without a squeak. I promptly picked her up. She just kept looking at me like “what the heck happened”. She had a hard time breathing for a minute – more gasping – but she was ok. I was probably just as freaked out as she was.
Chest and Bellies
This weekend she started sleeping on my chest (belly down) to go to sleep. She stopped wanting to be rocked in a cradle-fashion and wanted to be more “held”. I’m guessing it’s because she’s had a full nose for a few days. She’s always has enjoyed laying on Jim that way – just not me. I really enjoy it. I get to snuggle with her.
More words
This weekend she added to her vocabulary. In addition to the ma maa, ba ba, she’s also now doing the mwra and blab la. She’s also brought back the famous hela monster noise and is starting to combine all her words with various tones – almost like she’s talking. This afternoon, Jim got her to say Dada for the first time. It’s all babbling, but it still makes ya feel good when she says it.

Easy morning
This morning I slept in a tad. Reagan got up at 730 and babbled for a little while before Jim went to get her. He came in the bedroom with the babbling baby and the rowdy dogs and I begged for 10 more minutes. He complied and took all three noisemakers out of the room. Thirty minutes later, I emerged from the room. I wasn’t really anymore rested because of the noise level in the house, but still rested. Reagan and Jim were hanging out on the floor playing with toys and the dogs were already laying down. I made my way into the kitchen – in a zombie-like fashion – to find coffee. I eventually gave up and asked Jim to take care of it for me. So I walked back into the living room and traded with Jim. Now I have my coffee. J Thank goodness for liquid energy.
Trying to Crawl
Emily and Paul came over tonight to visit. Their little boy, Sean, is crawling all over the place. It’s so funny to watch him just go because Reagan just doesn’t [go]. As Paul says, “she’s anchored [to the floor]”. I said “well anchored”. She tried multiple times to pull on his ears and grab him. He would just crawl. She did bonk him on the head with her little tin drum. Poor Sean. He had already taken a fall earlier that day and had a knot on his head. Reagan gave him a red mark on his forehead by shoving the popcorn tin into his head. Geez. So the funny thing is, Reagan is trying to crawl. She gets so mad. She can scoot backwards and turn around, but she won’t go forward yet.
