She crawled
She did it. I was sitting at work this morning early and Jim called from home. "She crawled". Not perfectly, but he said that she made two "steps" to get to the phone he had put on the floor. Man... I wish I was home so I could see her doing this. Of course now he's trying to find anything he can to entice her to do it again. (sniff sniff I wish I could have seen that)
Sleepy head
My little sleepy head is just not a morning person I don't think. This morning I went upstairs to wake her up. I stoked her leg very lightly and whispered "Reagan sweetie, it's time to wake up". Of course, she ignored that. I did it again - nothing. After doing it a third time, she reached down for her blanket that had fallen off her body and pulled it up over her head and proceeded to continue sucking on her pacifier. Hmmm.

Shopping with Baby
I decided because it had been a while since I went to BBRus with just Reagan that I was going to go today. Jim was going to watch the Bengals game, Jordan wanted to hang out on the computer. I thought it was a perfect day for us to go.
We love going. Reagan loves to people watch and try out the new toys. I love to just look around. I have no idea why. We used to go about once a week - shopping that is - and just stroll around. I guess I miss doing that with Reagan. She just gets such a kick out of watching people and things that I have a hard time not going.
We had a great time. She sat up in the cart this time instead of her stroller and was into everything. She tried to grab all sorts of stuff. I was able to pre-occupy her with my car keys for a while.
We headed over to the toy isle and had a great time. I like to try on her new toys if I can. We landed on a pop-up toy for about $10. Not bad. She squealed every time she saw something pop up and tried to push it down. So cute.

I found a door!
This is an early blog, but I thought I better do it before the day gets going.
Reagan got up at 730am and babbled in bed for about 15 minutes. I was pretty tired so I just let her hang out in her crib for a while. Once I got her up, we went downstairs to get the day started. I went into the bathroom with Reagan and a toy and started my morning routine. She was so content with playing with her bug that I started taking off my old nail polish.
While I was doing that, she made her way over to the bathroom closet by her crawling technique (if you call it that - she gets up moves two hands forward and then sits back down). She was so excited the first time she opened up the closet. She looked back at me with a huge grin. She played with the door for a while - moving it back and forth. Then she finally figured out how to close it. Every time the door would get really close to closing, she'd lean forward and act like she was peeking inside. When she shut the door, she looked at me like "uh oh". We did that little game about four different times... then she found the floor vent.

What a fun day
I was able to sleep in today. I had gotten up the last seven nights with Reagan and I really needed one night's sleep uninterrupted. Thank goodness for that.
I woke up around 9am and Jim informed me that Reagan wouldn't eat for him. Oh well. I guess she really is finicky. Ugh. Since she wouldn't take a nap for me at 1030am, we all went to Jordan's soccer game at Children's field. Of course, she napped on the way there. :)
We were able to sit right next to the field this time which meant I had to be on the lookout for flying soccer balls. Thank goodness I only had to deflect one. She played well, watched the kids running by on the field, tried to crawl a few times but mostly tried to play and eat the grass. Hmmm. She loves the feel of grass.
After the soccer game, we decided to get our errands out of the way. I first needed a pitstop at Grammy & Grampy's. When we got there, she was sacked out which worked out well. I rocked her down with a bottle and left her there to sleep while we went grocery shopping. Woo hoo. Let me tell you how weird it was to shop without the baby. I'm so used to having her next to me that it uncomfortable. I kept checking for her. When we got back to G&G's house, Reagan wasn't quite awake yet. Jim left me there so he and Jordan could go home and put the groceries away.
Grammy had put out a kids nap mat that she had gotten at Kohl's for her to sleep on. It was cute. It was a Lion made into a mat. The it was like mini-sleeping bag that had a pillow attached to it. On one corner of the pillow, there was a lion's head and at the end of the mat, there was a tail.
Reagan slept well on it - not moving once while she slept. She woke up and played on the mat - babbling and pulling at the lion. Babbaaababbbdadadddaa. You could tell she was curious about where she was - she probably didn't recognize their room.
After a quick diaper change, we played in their dining room for a while. She was able to get up on all fours pretty well. She pulled herself straight up on Grampy and is happy as can be. The nice thing is that she goes right to both of them. She doesn't think twice about it. I am sure it's because they are always around and she assumes they should be.
After dinner, we put her in her playpen to see if she would cruise a bit. She loves to stand up at and play so we've been putting her on things that she can "cruise" on. She does cruise some, but tends to be very slow.
The cute thing she did tonight was wave "bye bye" to her Daddy. Jim said "hi" and she instantly waved. Then he said "bye bye" and she started babbling and waving to him. It was so adorable.

She says YES!
Ok - I figured out what the heck she was doing the other day when she was only moving her top jaw. She was saying yes! We were out to eat with Grammy & Grampy at Longhorn and she started moving her head and jaw the same way again - she was just doing it more smoothly. It hit me while we were eating... and we all said "she's saying Yes!"
WOW!!!
And I must say, as Reagan is getting older and wanting to be more interactive with her dinner times, she is quite the handful. So when we got to the restaurant, I handed her off to Grammy and watched it all. It was so hilarious. She was just all over the place - she was playing on the table and with her toys and with the menu and with this and with that. Grammy was having a fun time trying to keep up with Ms. Reagan. I was laughing inside because I deal with that all the time. I never get to see the process from the outside. How funny it looks to try to keep up with my curious little angel. :)

All fours
I decided to take a little bit of time this morning to hang out with Reagan. Some mornings, if I know there is bad traffic, I will opt to go in later to play with her and just come home later.
I love watching her play and interact with her environment. I'm trying to get her to crawl by strategically placing objects out of her reach. But she can be misleading. While she doesn't appear mobile, she surprises me with her "reach". She can reach farther ever time... she's learned how to stretch just the right way to get what she needs. But the neat thing is she is getting better at the crawling process. She is now able to pull her knees up under herself and keep them there. She is no longer falling right to her belly. My little chunky monkey is getting muscles. :)
