Four teeth folks

I've been meaning to write since the weekend... Reagan has FOUR teeth. Or I should say, she has one and three more are coming in at the same time.

It started happening last week I guess. We've been so excited that she had the one and consumed with her illness that we didn't look inside her mouth. I figured it out on Friday when I was home with her all day.

Could that be part of the reason why she is so grumpy? Hmmm.

Good day

Today was the first day in a week that we woke up to poop-free zone in Reagan's room. She was "full" but it was contained in her diaper which meant we didn't have to scramble to clean everything in sight. Thank goodness. Not only that, she ate the best she had in a week - 4 bottles and 4 jars of food - and she took a couple naps too. The only down side was the fact that she woke up in the middle of the night and did not go back to sleep until about 500 am. Ugh.

We had a really lazy day. We met Mom and Dad for brunch at FirstWatch and hung out for a while with Nic. Nic left after that and Jim and I headed off to Biggs to do some quick grocery shopping. After that it was pretty much hang at home and hang with BB.

One really funny thing about Reagan that we've now seen a few times is that she likes her food tray organized. We put stuff in the big section of the tray and she will move things over to one of the cup holder sections. Hmmm. Weird stuff.

She also figured out today how to walk with her stand up walker. I got a video of it, but it's dark so hopefully I'll get a better one soon and put it on YouTube.

Norse vs. Cardinals

Tonight was the first exhibition game for the NKU Norse Basketball teams (both men and women) at the new Bank of Kentucky Center. The Women's game started at 530 pm and the Men's game started at 800 pm. We had invited Nic up from Louisville (UofL student) and my dad to go to the games and had arranged for Mom to take care of Reagan. Up until the last minute, we weren't really sure we were going to be able to go. But Reagan had a good day and Mom was ok with us leaving late so she didn't have to manage a sicky baby for seven hours.

Anyway, we got to the Women's game during the second half. The Cardinals were beating NKU enough that it really didn't seem an option for them to win. The cool thing about the Women's game was that Jordan was the ball girl. We really didn't get to see her as ball girl, but I did get some good shots of her from our seats with the team.

After the game, we took off to walk around the new arena - it was really nice. It's a small venue - it seats about 10K. But it was very comfortable. I liked the fact that we were close enough to the game from the seats we had that we could still see the expressions on the faces of the coaches.

At 800 pm, we got back to our seats in time to watch Pitino and his Cards join the Norse on the floor. I was amazed to see how big the guys on the UofL team looked compared to the Norse players. Our guys were tall, but skinnier than the other team. But regardless of there size, the Norse gave the Cards a run for their money. They were hitting 3-pointers the whole game. They were just drainin them left and right. It was amazing. The Norse team was actually ahead for a while (see pics soon). It was really cool to see how the crowd got into the game. Every point NKU scored, the crowd roared and the yellow towels started flying. But in the end, the Cards won. Ah well.

My baby is shrinking

Reagan has had a diahrrea thing on and off for three weeks by our calculations and last night was probably the worst of it. She had gone through her diaper by 11pm. We cleaned that up. She woke up screaming at 4am. We cleaned that up. She did it again two more times between 4am and 430am. We cleaned those up. I put her back in bed about 7am (since I made her sleep on me to calm her down at 5am) and by 8am, she had gone through another diaper! UGH!!!

The other that goes with excessive diahrrea is dehydration - yea! And since she won't eat or drink (or hasn't in several days), we called the doctor. She had cried for about 15 minutes (at 4am) straight at 4am with not one tear in sight and her mouth was really tacky. The doctor said when he called back to watch her and bring her in tomorrow. Nice.

So I did. Jim and I both stayed home incase the dehydration was bad enough she might need an IV (great huh). Good thing is she didn't. But the bad thing is that she has lost weight for the second time in her life (the first during her first week of life). She had gone from 23 lb 9 oz to 22 lb 4 oz in under two weeks. I'm guessing it's because she's so active and not eating (and what she does eat goes right out the other end).

So now we get the pleasant job of collecting her "stuff" and taking it to Childrens!

Say a prayer for Ms Reagan!

Mama's Girl or Jordan's Girl?

My little girl is a mama's girl when she is sick. She really wants to be "on" me the whole time. But tonight, Jim was holding and she was kinda fussy so he put her down on the floor next to him and Jordan. Guess who she crawled to... Yep - Jordan! She pulled up on Jordan and wanted her to pick her up. Awwwww.

Today was a very slow day. I knew I wasn’t back to a state that I could drive into work and be around people, but I was hoping to get some work done from home in between naps. That just wasn’t in the cards at all today. Reagan was very clingy and wanted to be with me the entire day. She would play for bits of time here and there, but pretty much stayed right with me. If I sat on the couch, she wanted to be on top of me. I think we watched all three episodes of Clifford that we recorded. She’d lie on top of me and I would just hold her while she watched. Twice she fell asleep and as soon as I realized that she had fallen asleep, I did too. So while I did get some needed rest myself, it wasn’t pure rest since I was really taking care of her. Ah well. Reagan was happy as long as she was with me. What a mama’s girl (tee heeee) :)

By the time Jim got home, I was pretty tired and worn out. I just could not do anymore. I handed the baby off to Jim and closed the bedroom door to take a bath. Yes a bath folks. I thought it would relax me. Hmmm. That is when I figured out that my entire trunk was covered in a rash. Ugh. That’s probably why I felt so run down. While my stomach troubles were minor, I was really run down. I am guessing the rash (or what caused it) was part of the reason. Oh well. At least the bath was relaxing until I kept hearing Reagan cry. Despite my desires to go figure out what was wrong with her, I stayed in the tub and made myself relax some. I got out, at least a little cleaner than I was, ready to face the evening despite the fact that I was ready to go to bed. I really hope that I feel better tomorrow.

watery poop

Today Reagan was sick again. She's had a intestinal bug for a couple weeks (on and off) and today she started the day with a watery diaper. So we decided to keep her home. The bad thing was that I was still sick myself. So Jim took off to work and there I was with a little one that was sick. Ugh. The funny thing about Reagan is that unless you know her you would never know she was sick. She doesn't really ever seem to lose energy. I know because she's very clingy, snuggly and whinny - three things that just ain't normal. :)

Anyway, she would play very hard while she was up. When she was tired, she would make her way over to me on the floor or couch and crawl on top of my chest. That was my clue that I needed to lay down with her and take a nap. That was always fine with me since I was tired most the day anyway.

Tonight in the tub she started putting letters up on the side of the tub. Instead of just knocking them off, she would pick a letter and figure out which was she wanted it up there and place it ever so gently. So cute and dainty. Ha!
