And she's off...

Oh My! Tonight was it. She is 100% walking. I am not sure I saw her crawl one time at my parent's house tonight. I got about five different videos of her walking around and around. She even has pretty good balance. She almost tripped a number of times - either on her blanket or a foot - but would regain her balance and just keep going. WOW! And, she's FAST! She does not slow down... she just goes and goes and goes.

We're in trouble now.

Our Cuddlebug

She is officially a "Cuddlebug" at LRS now. She's moved into the 12-18 month old room and she is now into a school-type schedule and getting out of anything considered "baby". I was told they would be weaning her from the bottle in a matter of two weeks and would work with us to wean her off any other items we wanted to get rid of. UGH! NOT YET!!! I'm so not ready for her to grow up - but I guess I better get used to it.

I picked her up tonight about 515pm and she was ready to go home. She saw me and immediately cried until I held her. My heart sank... but then I quickly remembered that it was her first day in a "big girl's room" and she'd be okay.

Temper tantrums are cool

Temper tantrums - what are they exactly? Well I personally believe they are an opportunity for kids and babies to act utterly ridiculous in public and private and an even better opportunity for parents to laugh at their kids.

The first time it happened, I didn't even know what was happening. This was a few weeks ago. But Reagan has been performing these quite well over the last 10 days or so. I wasn't really prepared for what she could do over the Christmas break, but she is quite impressive.

This morning was the best. I got her up and brought her downstairs. I fed her on the couch and put her on her feet as usual and then proceeded to get up and put the used bottle up etc... Well I guess SHE wanted the bottle. She was reaching for it, but I just didn't think about it. She proceeded to throw herself on the floor and start to cry. WOW! I think that was a record for her. Within 10 minutes of her waking, she was already launching an attack. I laughed so hard I about peed in my pants. Am I a bad mom? Ugh.

Anyway. She got over it fast. She usually does maybe because I don't pay attention to them most the time. She actually threw another one in the kitchen when I was putting her bag together, but again... I just look at her like "what is that?".

I really am caught off guard when she does this because I am so shocked it's happening that I usually just stare at her. Oh well. If that makes me a bad mom, I guess I am. But hopefully my inability to compute the stupid tantrum will keep them from being real long. He he.

Teeth

Ok. I've been feeling a few bumps in Reagan's mouth over the last week or so (and experiencing some excessive grumpiness) so I thought I'd look up what the deal is.
Apparently the bumps I've been feeling probably are teeth coming to the surface. I found a cool diagram on the ADA site that let me know what to expect with her teeth.
THe bumps are in the right place - right where the lateral incisors are supposed to be. Neat huh?

Wakey time

Every morning for the last few weeks Reagan has been requesting a visit to the top of her dresser. That is where all of her stuffed animals "live". I pile them up there at night and every morning she wants to greet each one and "hug" them or throw them on the floor.

This morning, she picked up three different ones before deciding she wanted the "bear". This is, of course, in addition to the snuggly animal she has to sleep with. We definetly had a full changing table this morning. I can't complain - it keep she calm during the diaper change.

So talkative

She is getting a bigger vocabulary now. She's saying alot more than she was a week ago. It's almost as if she's finally putting things together that she's been watching for a while.

I got her a set of Animal Cards by BB Einstein and started working with her. She got very attached to the dog, the duck and the otter. She immediately snatched the dog card from me and said "Dog!". It actually looks just like Carson (our dog).

Walks and Knocks

Today was another amazing day for Reagan. She seems to be really taking off. She is walking like crazy. She's taking more steps on her own and won't stop for anything. She does not want to sit still or be held much, she wants to be on the floor and mobile. She is getting much bolder which also means she's getting some knocks on the head and body. She took two to the head tonight - one of which left a nice knot and black and blue mark on her forehead. Ugh. But after a few minutes of cuddling, she wanted back on the floor to start all over again.

She and John played well today. Because he's two he doesn't share his toys too well, but he was trying to. He wanted to play with her all day. When I was giving her a bottle about 5pm, he came over and said "where's baby?". He wanted to play. How cute. When I said she could play after she ate, he seemed happy.

She definetly loves John's toys more than hers. She played with his trucks and airplanes most of the time we were at Grammy and Grampy's house. If she wasn't playing with them or the other kids, she was up walking around.
