One Year pictures

Today was picture day for us girls. I wanted to get Reagan's One-Year shot done, but also get some pictures of the girls and me with the girls as well. We all got dolled up and took off for Portrait Innovations in the mall. They did a good job!

Something neat

I picked Reagan up from LRS today and saw something really neat. There was a child, probably about 18-months old, that was very kind. Reagan was crying, of course, when I picked her up and threw her pacifier on the ground when I walked in. This little boy picked it up and handed it to me.

Holy cow.

Wow

There was so much stuff from today that I am just going to list it all off so I don't forget it.

- She stood up from a downward dog position today without any support. I just couldn't believe it. WoW!

- She is not interested, at all, in being carried around. She wants to walk everywhere - and she's FAST!!

- She is now asking to "play" the piano. She walked over to it today and pointed at it while saying "mama". I picked her up and she started banging away. How cute is that!?

-She has an ever growing interest in the dog crates. She has gone from letting the dogs out (been doing that since she's been pulling up) to now giving them toys in their crates. I found her little radio toy and two magnets in Sydney's crate. Thank goodness she doesn't give this stuff to Carson - he would eat it.

and finally...

- She held her bottle for the first time today! Yea Reagan.

Tooth #5

I know there are more about to burst through the surface, but Tooth #5 has officially shown up. No wonder she's been so grumpy. If you are looking at her beautiful face, it's the top right side. So she now has three across the top and two on the bottom. Sniff sniff.

One year appt

Today I picked Ms. Reagan up from school early to take her to her one-year appointment. She did fine. We found out that she is ahead of most developmentally and she is still in the 91-94 percentile in her growth. Thank goodness. I also asked about "all the bumps" in her mouth and we realized that she already had tooth #5 coming through (on top). WOW! She is officially moved over to whole milk at home (no more formula) yea haa and finger foods.

After the doc's visit, the nurse came back in with needles - ick! She had to get a finger prick to test for lead and then four shots. The nurse really wasn't very good. She sucked actually. But oh well. She had a hard time getting blood to drip out of her finger (duh maybe because she held her arm up and not down-DUH). I tried to tell her but what do I know. :) The shots were horrible. Reagan was so worked up by the lead test that there was NO calming her down at all. Poor thing. I felt so bad for her. But she recovered nicely. She hung on to me until she stopped crying and then quickly looked for a toy. Yea baby girl.

We took off and went home. She was quite grumpy and clingy, but I handed her off to Jim for a while so I could mentally rest. That was a tough appointment.

Oh well - we don't have to go back for 3 more months. Whew!

Some more firsts - more for mommy

So today, I didn't feed her at all. No I'm not mean... she fed herself. She only had three bottles (morning, 5pm and bedtime) and she ate all table food. WOW! Tomorrow is her 1 year appointment and yes I have tons of questions. I'm sure he'll answer all of them and tell me not to worry. She is healthy and fine.

She is walking again tonight like a champ and is, of course, throwing her tantrums. I think they are funny. We tried a new bedtime routine tonight. I figured since everything else was changing, why not that too. I wanted to start brushing her teeth before bed and it seemed like a good time to start. After her bottle, we went to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She had fun. She wanted to dip her toothbrush in the water over and over again. After we were done with her teeth, we sat down in the rocking chair to cuddle. I sang her a lullaby and then put her down. She went out like a light. I hope some version of this routine will stick. It's so hard to get all this new stuff in for the routine, but it will get done eventually.

TPHTTT

Ok - that noise that you make when you stick out your tongue and blow spit out (ya know sticking your tongue out at someone)... well Reagan does this so well that I'm actually a tad worried. She did it tonight in front of Spanky and I laughed so hard that she did it again. GREAT! I totally reinforced that. Oh well. It is kinda cute... maybe breaking that one habit won't be too bad.
