PUKE Sux!

Tonight, I was totally puked on. Not just kinda puked on where ya can just wipe it off. It was the kind that you have to take off every stitch of clothing, take a shower, spray the room, clean the bathroom, give the kid a bath and yea - you could tell what they ate kind of puke.

I had just finished giving Reagan her bottle and put her pacifier in her mouth. She was relaxed and slowly closing her eyes. All of a sudden (a quick sudden) her eyes opened up and she gave me this look... Ya know moms - THE LOOK. I knew it was coming up. Oh My!

She opened up her mouth and all sorts of stuff came out of her mouth. I swear she emptied everything she had eaten in the last week (of course not digested) on me and herself. And the stink... just awful. While she was mid-stream, I screamed for Jim. He was downstairs... WAS. He came upstairs - even Jordan came in the room. She and I were sitting in the rocking chair. Reagan was crying and holding her arms out like "this is sooo gross mommmmmmm". It was.

It was all I could do noth to get sick myself. I've held Jordan's hair, I've held friends up while they puked. Reagan has even spit up on me. But this was just a whole new level of puke.

Believe it or not, once she got out of the bath, she was fine. Poor thing.

New Scientific experiments

Jim and I have been trying to figure out how much pee a diaper will hold. This morning I found out. Apparently just over two bottles worth. The third one put her over the top- literally.

I picked Reagan up out of her crib this morning and could see how full the diaper was. It looked as if it was about to explode. Well, hmmm, it had. I laid her down to change her diaper and realized that her diaper was SOAKED and her shirt was wet half way up all the way around. Lovely. I had held onto her a snuggled her.

So she got a quick bath before her bottle this morning. :)

Yep - clear as a bell!

Tonight I got home from work and couldn't believe it. Reagan's nose was still not running. Jim did say that he had to "clean" her nose when he got home, but it wasn't running. Hmmmm. I know that steroids shrink membranes and helps block histamines (amongst other things) but I guess I didn't realize how well they work.

It's really not good that she's on a dose, but I am glad she's outwardly doing better. I'm just hoping that her ears are clearing out! Cross your fingers.

Clear as a bell?

This morning, I was a tad concerned because when she woke up at 2:30 am, she was crying and tugging at her ears. But by 7:30 am she was "clear as a bell". No snot, no runny nose, no nothin. Hmmm. So I know that the steroid pill shrunk her membranes. That's good. I just don't know what else it did. I'm really hoping in some ways that this works, but that will mean that she has allergies - at least seasonal (or dog). Ugh. She was kinda fussy, but I am thinking that is because she didn't have a ton of sleep. Oh well. Cross your fingers that I get a good report when I pick her up tonight. :)

Children's Hospital

Today we took Reagan to Children's Hospital to see an Ear Specialist. She's had so much troulbe getting over her infections that we were told to seek some more taylored care for her. Our doctor mentioned tubes a while back - that scared me. But I've spoken to so many mothers that I am more settled that it might work for Reagan.
We got there and OH MY GOSH that place is HUGE! I just couldn't believe how large the campus was. Jim and I drove separate, so I was able to get there a tad early to get Reagan registered. We first had to do a hearing test. Reagan did really well. The nurses were awesome. The room was a sound booth with a couple monitors and some other things. They gave her a few tests to get used to following the sounds and then started the test. She did ok. I could tell she wasn't responding to everything correctly, but that's why they do the test.
Next we saw the doctor. He was really good with her. He reviewed her history and then looked in her ears. Both ears were raging red and full of fluid - he was amazed at how well she did. Her demeanor suggests she feels fine, but based on her ears, she should be really uncomfortable and in a ton of pain. That just means she has a high tolerance for pain. Great for later in life - bad now because we don't know when she doesn't really feel well. Ugh.
Oh well. So now she's on her fourth round of antibiotics and a steroid. They are going to try a steroid to see if she might be having allergy trouble. If so, they would have to puther on an allergy regimen or do tubes. But either way, I think she'll end up with tubes. Oh well! I just want her to feel better!!!

Max and Erma's Charity event

Tonight we went out to dinner for a charity - Cinderella's Closet - at Max and Ermas. Dinner time is usually a wrestling match with Reagan because she hasn't quite developed her table manners yet, so I don't always look forward to dinner out. Oh, and when we go out to eat, she usually eats the crayons for her appetizer. Tonight was no exception. After tonight, I have definetly figured out that she does not need her own meal. Jim and I have been getting her a kid's meal, but she almost never eats it. She actually did pretty well. She is such a social kid - she says hi and bye to everyone… literally. By the time we got home, we had to throw her in the bath and get her into bed. I hate nights like that because I just don't feel that I get to spend quality time with her. Oh well. Life happens.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

We had a nice day today. Aside from the daily dose of sass and disrespect from the oldest, we had a good day. We got to church for the third week in a row - yipee - and we even went out to lunch with Mom and Dad. I was able to do a quick workout while Reagan was taking her nap. Jim's Dad came to visit for a bit and we even got to Children's place to get Jordan some new clothes. Wow! What a day!
