Major Storm

Tonight, it was just me and Reagan. Jim was off to a conference and my parents were not available, so I took her shopping with me. We went over to Old Navy and got a few things for her before heading over to BBRUs. Soon after we got in the store, a storm rolled in and started causing some noise. Lighting and thunder was in full swing by the time we got to the front. And just as we got in line to check out, the lights went out. oops.

So we stood in line and read books. Good thing she picked them out. We hung out there for a bit and watched the crazy storm from inside. The lights did finally come back on after about 15 minutes - not too bad. We checked out and rolled out to the front of the store.

Ummmm yea - it was time to get soaked. There were a bunch of us huddled in between the front doors wondering what to do. It was pouring out - the rain was so heavy that it wouldn't take long to get soaked.

After a while, I decided we needed an adventure. I grabbed an extra bag to cover the diaper bag and started laughing with Reagan as we headed out the door. We got soaked from head to toe in a matter of seconds. We giggled the whole way - well until we got hit with HAIL!!! WHAT THE HECK!!! Yea, she and I both got hit about the same time. Oops. Nice job huh.

Oh well. I hit the remote to lift the back and we dove under - cart and all. I picked her up and scooted her in. I got our stuff out, shoved the cart and dove in myself. We sat in the car dripping for a bit before I even tried to dry her off.

And yes, as soon as I started driving, the rain let up! :)

Way to darn cute for me

Tonight, Reagan wanted to go for a walk in her stroller. The only way I figured that out was because she pulled the stroller out and started nodding her head. How cute is that? So we bundled her up with her snuggly and a thing of milk and took off.

Let me tell you how HOT IT WAS!! OH MY!! I got about half way through a 30 minute walk and I had to stop. I really wasn't going all that fast, but the humidity killed me.

Oh well. She was perfectly happy. She was watching the birds and looking for ducks. She pointed at all the trees and people as we walked by. And when we saw a dog, she'd start saying "pooopy" (which really means puppy).

We had a nice walk together.

Taco Tuesday and beyond

Tonight after work, we all met Emily, Paul and Sean for Taco Tuesday! Woo hoo. We love Tacos from Margaritas and we love them even more when they are cheap. The kids did well during dinner, but as soon as they were done eating, they both wanted down.

Emily started Sean off by walking around the restaurant. As soon as Reagan saw that, she wanted in on the fun. We eventually had two adults chasing two toddler walking around the circle at the restaurant. GOod thing they are good kids and not totally obnoxious. Most the other adults in the place thought the kids were cute and didn't seem to mind them stopping occasionally to say hi. :)

After we ate, we took off for the park. Reagan loves the park. The kids ran around, went down the slides and climb walls. It was a blast watching them goof off. I think we were all secretly hoping that we'd wear them out enough that they'd sleep through the night. :) He heee.

Beeeeee. Beeeeeee.

Her Beeeeeeee is her binky. If she gets the least bit upset, she cries "beeeeee, beeeeee". It's cute, except for the fact that I know I'm going to have to take it away at some point. Ugh!

The last few days she's been putting it away when she's done with it. She'll get something to drink and instead of just laying it down whereever she's at, she'll actually walk over to the drawer and put it where we keep them. How cute! and smart!

Ah well... I'm enjoying the cuteness of it so far. I'm sure the battle to get rid of it will be interesting.

Rash that won't go away

Today we decided that it was time to get Reagan back to the doctor. We've been watching her rash grow and get worse and last night we saw bruising again under her arm. The bruising started under her arm and has spread out and around her ribs. It's scary looking (well at least to me).

So Jim took her at 3pm and the doctor really wasn't sure what it was and sent him off to Children's for a CBC. Nice. I, of course, was at a work outing, not thinking this visit would be that big of a deal. He called and said the doctor was checking her platelette counts and also her liver funtions to make sure she was ok.

That was a very scary couple of hours - waiting from 4pm until 530pm when the doctor called. The good news for now is that all the tests came back just fine. Her counts were normal and her liver was functioning fine too. Whew.

So now we just have to wait for the rash go away. If it doesn't fade in the next couple of weeks, we have to take her to a specialist. So say a few prayers that her rash is just something viral!

Chair mamma

Reagan is putting words together to make sentences. They are very basic and backwards, but she is still doing it.

She's been doing little things like grabbing our clothes and dragging us to another room while saying "come on" through her pacifier. Tonight, Jim was sitting in the rocking chair getting ready to read some books before bed. She didn't want to sit on her lap. She pulled on his shirt and said "up". So he got up. He then asked, "what do you want Reagan?"

She pointed at the chair and said "chair mamma" while shaking her head.

Jim and I were astounded - She made a sentence!! Holy COW!!
