Grocery store

TOnight, Reagan and I took off to go grab some food (and ice cream) from the store before dinner. I plopped her down in the cart and we took off walking around the store. The first thing we found was a watermelon. Yummy. Apparently Reagan likes watermelon, because as soon as she saw it, she screamed!!!! Oh my. So I asked her if she wanted it - yep she did. Then she was upset I didn't just put it in her lap.

Needless to say, we tried to eat healthy, but I think she and I both ate watermelon for dinner. Is that bad?

The Ultimate "Stall" Technique

To anyone that has gone through potty training a kid, they'll understand when I say that Reagan has figured out the ultimate stalling technique. It seems that the last few nights, just before we get ready to put her into her bed, she says "poopy??" and starts to crawl down off my lap.

This, of course, the first few nights, made me think - "sweet... she's figuring it out". Little did I know that she really didn't have any intentions to actually use the potty, she was using as additional play time. Hmmm.

Tonight, I finally got tired of it. It's so hard to know if she really has to go or not. So I fell for it - hook line and sinker. I got up and we went to the potty. She told me to "sit... and pee" (so I pretend) and then we hang out. Well, I hang out and she plays while pretending to pee.

Hmmm. SO I called the enforcer in (dad) and he said "All done!"

That was that!

I wanna hug!

Today, I got home from work before Jim got home with Reagan from their errands. When I saw Reagan, I asked for a hug and boy oh boy did I get one.

I picked her up and she wrapped both of her arms around me and laid her little head on my shoulder. Talk about one heck of a way to get rid of stress. She loves me!!!

The best thing ever... ever!

Water sprinkler fun for all

Today, we all got home about the same time. Jim went outside to start up the grill and then he turned on the sprinkler. That started the fun for the early part of the evening. I went outside with Reagan and she wanted to get down and play. She screamed until I put her down. She wanted to watch Sydney play in the sprinkler.

So we did. She eventually got in on the fun herself. She started running towards the sprinkler and then running away when the water came around. After about ten minutes of this fun, she got more daring. She ended up getting completely soaked (and so did I) from running into the sprinkler and running away when the water came towards her.

I finally got Jim to turn off the water... but it didn't stop there. Becuase she had fallen down quite a bit, she was covered in grass. She was walking around the yard, soaking wet (in a purple outfit) and covered in grass (that looked like green hair all over her). So we turned on the hose and then washed her off.

Apparently she loves water. She got in that puddle and played and played and played. Then she started copying Sydney - drinking from the faucet. I finally took a cute video of her and Sydney playing at the hose. She and Sydney at one point were drinking out of the faucet together.

What an awesome evening.

Walking down the stairs

She's officially walking down the stairs like a pro now. You have to hold her hand and remind her to hold the rail, but she's doing it. :) whooooooohoooo

Uncle Ken and Aunt Patsy!!

Wow! What a treat. Tonight we got to see Uncle Ken, Aunt Patsy, Ryan and Uncle Joe. We haven't seen them in years - all of them. We found out on Tuesday that they were going to be here and decided at the last minute to try to get time with them.

Even with the crazy schedule, we managed to meet them out for dinner over by Tri County Mall about 7pm. I really enjoy hanging out with them - they are so fun to be with. Uncle Ken is such a hoot.

Reagan did really well despite the late timing. She dove head first into her bowl of ranch of course and ended up getting completely covered in ranch. That of course entertained the table. She played and flirted most the evening and even tolerated getting cleaned up.

We finally took off from the restaurant about 9:15 pm. I can't believe that she actually stayed awake the whole way home... but she did. But, I think she didn't fight too much when Jim put her down.

Hanging with Uncle Eric

Eric is participating in a journalism circuit to help promote policy across the state of Indiana. I probably didn't get that right... I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, he drove through Cincy tonight to hang out with us and also pick up some furniture for his boys to use. While we waited for him to arrive, Reagan and I hung out with Mom and Dad for an hour or so. We walked down to their house about 6pm - Reagan was so happy. All you have to do is ask if you want to go there and she starts bouncing up and down shouting "mimi... papa".

Once he got there, we loaded up the furniture and played for a bit. Reagan started warming up to Eric finally. He just picked her up at one point and she actually stayed with him. It was nice. After a bit, we took off for dinner. Every time we go to dinner, I have to draw the whole family for her. TOnight, I got to draw "Uncle Eric". I drew him with hair, glasses and a go-tee (spelling). She cackled when she saw it and said "eeeiiicc". So now Eric has his own "look on paper" for Reagan. It's cute.

Before we left, she reached out for Eric asking for a hug. I think she finally warmed up!! Woo hoo
