Catch up time

I don't even know where to start because it's been a week since I wrote. Reagan has changed so much but she's 100 mph. There is no time to sit anymore. NObody told me that she would run me ragged at this age. Wow!

She's continuing to grow at school. In the last few weeks, her speech has taken off really well. Every day that we go to pick her up, the teachers will tell us how much she talks. She really enjoys her class and seems to get along great with everyone.

We took the binki away last friday night and she's had trouble ever since settling down and staying asleep. I hope we get through this phase soon. The interesting thing is that she has not once asked for it since the first 24 hours. I find that a bit odd because she actually has a pretty good memory for a toddler.

She still loves to play hide and seek - anywhere. She'll just pull a towel over her head and think she's hiding, even if her feet are sticking out. Then she'll pull me or Jim under to hide with her. It's cute.

She's always been independent, but it's gotten much more interesting lately. She doesn't want help with ANYTHING! NOthing!!! ANd when you try to, she gets really mad. Her tantrums have gotten better, but when she has one, it's always good.

Oh and I bought these red dress shoes for her. OMG! You'd think they were gold. She won't let them out of her sight at all. She puts them on her feet by herself as much as she can. It is quite hilarious. I'm sure I've missed some stuff, but that's pretty good for now.

Holy Cow - It's Amazing Grace

Tonight, I sung Amazing Grace to Reagan and she did as she normally does - she sung with me. After I was done, she said "sing mommy, sing" and then she started singing Amazing Grace all by herself. She's got most of the first verse memorized - I'm so impressed. Geeez.

My walkie talkie

I picked Reagan up from school today and got several comments from her current and older teachers that she is a regular chatter box (or walkie talkie). Over the last few days, I was told that her speech and words are picking up. But specifically this week it seemed to take off.

I would have to agree. Reagan talks ALL THE TIME!!! Oh My Gosh! It is so funny. If she's not jabbering away, she's mimicing whatever we say. It's quite cute most of the time. So far, she hasn't repeated anything too bad. We have realized this week that we really need to be super careful about how we say things because she repeats it back exactly as we say it. Uh oh!!

He heee

Opposites

So after Reagan read the Opposites book to me, I thought I'd give her a different challenge. I wanted to see if she had just memorized the book, or if she was actually "reading" the page. She has in the past, been able to memorize a few books that we read repeatedly. She shocked me. Once we got through the first page, I flipped to a different page in the book and she knew that page too. So she's reading the page (or probably the pictures). But it's a pretty cool thing either way.

What the heck will she do next?

Amazing Grace

Reagan is learning the words to Amazing Grace. I put her in bed tonight and started singing to her and she started singing with me. How awesome is that?

Reagan read to me tonight

So tonight, we did our normal bedtime routine - bath, teeth and then books. Tonight, Reagan didn't want me to read to her, she wanted to read herself. She flat out said "get out" (meaning get out of the rocking chair) and proceded to climb up into the chair. Then she asked for the "pillow" and her "book".

Then she started reading. Of course, she made up the story and I only understood about a quarter of it. But all in all, I think she read me three books.

Then, she put me to bed. Ha!
