No way hose

I asked Reagan tonight if she wanted to go take a bath and her answer was "no way hose".

Halloween party

Tonight we all took Reagan up to her school for their Halloween party. At first, she was a little tentative, but eventually warmed up to everyone. We put her in her witch costume and she pranced around in that all night.

The first room was her room - they had an art station set up. She stayed in there for 30 minutes coloring and gluing and coloring and gluing. Her teachers all said she could probably color all day and be happy. She's the one at the end of crafts that doesn't want to stop.

After that, we went across the hall to her old room where they had a bunch of dogs. Oh my! There were two great danes and several beagal mix puppies. Reagan had no fear at all. None. JOrdan was in heaven too - she was sticking close to one puppy in particular. She tried hard to convince us to get it, but my allergies won out. Reagan went right up to all the dogs and played, hugged and just had a great time.

THe last room for the evening was the cookie room. Uh oh. They had sugar cookies all ready to decorate. Of course, Reagan ate the icing... and then had a sugar melt down. So we left. We all had a great time. Reagan was adorable with Jordan by her side. (our little witch and devil)

It's a mess!

This morning I stayed home from work for a funeral which meant I got to see Reagan for breakfast. The other really cool thing that I got to see was the big machinery on our lawn digging a humongous hole in our yard for the walkout. How cool is that.

The hole they had to dig was right outside our eating area window. That meant the entire time Reagan was eating, she had to be positioned towards the window so she could watch. She wanted to be plastered up against the window to get the best view.

After they started working, she started saying "what a mess, a mess!" and pointing at the mud and other stuff outside.

So we took her to school and when we got back the hole was a pretty good size. I was impressed. The yard really wasn't torn up that much either - Jim and I were hopeful at that point that our yard would remain fairly in tact.

HA! We returned from the funeral about 2:00 pm and it was a HOLY MESS! OH MY GOSH!!!! The back hoe had to make trips up and down to the street to get rid of all the dirt they had dug up. All Jim and I could do was laugh. (I'll post pics later).

So we went and got Reagan after school and the first thing I did was show her the HUGE MESS! The first thing she said was "mommy - a mess!, what a mess!"

He heee - that's my girl!

Swimming in the Tub

Tonight, she swam in the tub as she always does when you threaten to take her out... But tonight when she swam, she kicked her legs hard and blew bubbles in the water at the same time!

Where does she get this stuff?

I was giving Reagan a bath tonight and she was trying to reach way up the wall, getting on her tippy toes, and she stopped and turned around and said "i can't, i can't" Odd. First of all, why would she say that? Secondly, where did she get it from?

The other things she said was "huh" and "yea" only after I asked her a question. I just need to know where the heck she gets this stuff!

Sleeping with the Red Shoes

For some reason, Reagan is very attached to these red sparkly shoes I got for her. She's never worn them, but ever since she saw them she's been very protective of them. She snuggles with them and hugs them. She loves to put them on (by herself) and walk around in them - even though they are way too big. Tonight, she wanted to sleep with them. I had to take them off because I felt at some level I would be a bad mom if I let her sleep with them. Hmmm. She wasn't happy.

Catch up time

I don't even know where to start because it's been a week since I wrote. Reagan has changed so much but she's 100 mph. There is no time to sit anymore. NObody told me that she would run me ragged at this age. Wow!

She's continuing to grow at school. In the last few weeks, her speech has taken off really well. Every day that we go to pick her up, the teachers will tell us how much she talks. She really enjoys her class and seems to get along great with everyone.

We took the binki away last friday night and she's had trouble ever since settling down and staying asleep. I hope we get through this phase soon. The interesting thing is that she has not once asked for it since the first 24 hours. I find that a bit odd because she actually has a pretty good memory for a toddler.

She still loves to play hide and seek - anywhere. She'll just pull a towel over her head and think she's hiding, even if her feet are sticking out. Then she'll pull me or Jim under to hide with her. It's cute.

She's always been independent, but it's gotten much more interesting lately. She doesn't want help with ANYTHING! NOthing!!! ANd when you try to, she gets really mad. Her tantrums have gotten better, but when she has one, it's always good.

Oh and I bought these red dress shoes for her. OMG! You'd think they were gold. She won't let them out of her sight at all. She puts them on her feet by herself as much as she can. It is quite hilarious. I'm sure I've missed some stuff, but that's pretty good for now.
