So today I went to the OBGYN and had my first pregnancy check up. I am further along than I thought - I'm eight weeks. Woo hooo. I was so sick by the time I got to the doctor, they put me back in a room so I could lay down. I was so thankful.
The exam was fine. The cool thing was that we did get to have an ultrasound. We saw the baby and something else. Apparently we had two embros (babies) that were developing. One, at one point, stopped developing. There was evidence of it - you could see a complete sac with a membrane separating it from the fetus that was still alive. The doctor called that a vanishing twin. HOLY COW. A twin? What?
Jim and I were totally joking about having twins and how much our lives would change. Neither one of us wanted twins either - I'm scared to have a second one myself. Needless to say, I'm a bit sad and overwhelmed but happy that I have one healthy fetus right now. :)

Sick sick sick
Oh wow - today I had the worse stomach thing. Jim and I both thought it was morning sickness :), but I figured out by the end of today that it had to be a stomach bug. I was up and down so fast that I couldn't see straight. I slept all day, anything I ate came up. The doctor even gave me some anti-nausea medication and I threw that up within 30 minutes. It was just awful. Ugh!

Crazy lunch
Today, Reagan asked to eat eggs for lunch. While that may not seem amazing, Jim has been waiting for the day that she does (it's been a year). Her lunch, today, consisted of eggs, mac n cheese, grapes, stawberries, Jim's pizza and Jim's apple. Everytime Jim gets something else out to eat, Reagan claims it as hers. He heee

Interesting new words lately
Some of the interesting new words in Reagan's vocabulary have cracked me up this week. She's started to use "maybe", "sure" instead of yes, and "mm-hmmm" instead of yes. Her vocabulary is growing so much.
Not only that, but she's speaking in Spanish. Thank you Dora. She just mixes in the words she learns from that show into her sentences. The funny thing is because I'm watching with her, it doesn't phase me at all.

Glowing Green Poop
Um, she has glowing green poop. She started taking a kid's version of a z-pack to kill her infection and the next day she had glowing green poop. Oh my. This morning, when I went to get her up, she had it again. And apparently it's irritating too. Hmmm.
Not sure it works
So I'm not convinced at all that Benadryl works on my kid. It did the first night, but the following three nights, she's wrestled to stay awake. Ugh. Last night, due to a number of things, I just slept on the floor next to her bed. She seemed okay with that after a while. Quite frankly, the stomach issues I had, prevented me from holding her which I am sure is a blessing.
I hope we can figure out her sleep stuff soon.

Sleep issues
So we spoke to Reagan's doctor Tuesday night and he suggested, if all else fails, that we could use some antihistamine for a week or so to help get her back in the habit of sleeping. Reagan has such a hard time settling down in the evenings, that we've been getting desparate. I'm hoping that she's getting into a good pattern that will carry us forward. I would also love to see her get out of diapers before we have #2. Ugh!
