What else can I eat?

Maddy LOVES to chew on stuff. I am constantly amazed at how much she sucks on her fingers and anything else she can reach. I have to be really careful about putting a burp cloth within her reach. She will do anything to get to it and then shove it in her mouth. The taggie elephant that I had with Reagan - she loves. She gets really frustrated when she can get to it and shove it in her mouth. The trunk on the toy is a tad worn due to her ability to get it into her little mouth.

This toy looked almost new because Reagan never did that stuff. It just cracks me up how different these two girls are. I'm actually looking for teething stuff for Maddy because she loves to chew so much. Just so cute. Love it!

Talking

Today, Maddy and I made another batch of veggie soup for the family. I put her in her bouncy seat on the counter and I chopped and talked for an hour. I have no idea how much baby talk I can really do without sounding silly, but I made it for a while before Jim made fun of me.

I made more noises than I could imagine with her. She always tries to copy and mimic what I do. It's cute. The noise to get her going is the gurgle from the back of the throat. She gets the biggest grin on her face! I love it.

She is starting to have conversations with me daily. She's quite talkative. All I have to do is just get really close and gurgle and she will start chatting with me. It's the best way to spend my day.

Missing Maddy

I don't feel like I played with Maddy today. For some reason, I missed her. It's odd. We all got up, got ready and went to church. I stayed in the nursery with her because she was a little grumpy. After that, she napped until I woke her up to eat and then take pictures. After that, we all played more. I was with her all day, but I just didn't get any good play time with her. I hate that feeling. Sigh...

I've done that already

Today we had a new photographer come over and take our family pictures. For what we had to work with (a three year old and a tired infant), we did well. The photographer was good-natured and handled the kids pretty well. She too has three kids. :)

As we were nearing the end, I had to resort to mild bribery. We wanted one more shot with Jim and the girls. The only way we could get Reagan to play along was reverse psychology and a lollipop. Believe it or not, the reverse psychology did better than the candy.

Later that night, my parents came over to hang out. My mom, of course, had her camera out and taking pictures. Every time that she got near Reagan, Reagan would say "I've done that already" and walk away. I laughed so hard.

I had to explain to mom that she had done really well for two hours of photos and probably was sick of a camera being stuck in her face.

Sharing

This morning, Jim and Reagan were sitting on the floor with Maddy. Reagan had a box of raisins. She

Big girl sleep

Reagan has finally gotten used to her sleep schedule. We finally weened her off of us sleeping in her bed. We stopped coddling her. :) We were the problem, not her. She goes to bed on her own now and has far fewer disturbances during the night. Thank goodness. We both needed the sleep. :)

Sleeping

Maddy has gotten back into her sleep routine again. It took me a while to figure her evenings out, but she seems to have gotten into a pattern. About 730pm she gets fussy - she needs a cat nap. We usually get Reagan upstairs near that time to take advantage of the downtime for her bath.

Once her bath is about done, Maddy wakes up and wants a bottle. So we do bottle during books for Reagan and then say our prayers. Once we are done with that, she and I go to her room to rock and chill out. She usually fusses a bit more before falling asleep about 915 or 930 for the whole night.

I usually have to wake her up about 730 am. I assume that her body clock will set soon with that time so she gets used to getting up then. Either way, I'm getting a ton of sleep. :) Go Maddy!
