Pillow pets and friends

Reagan went to school today with her new pillow pet. There are couple girls at school who take theirs to school every day. We walked in to her classroom. She was holding onto the ladybug. As soon as we walked in, the girls in the room cried out "Reagan got a pillow pet!" She was so happy.

Do kids really pay attention to that stuff this early?

Mama's girl

Today we were driving back from school and Jim asked Reagan whose girl she was. She tilted her head and pointed directly at me. She said "Mama's. You can have Maddy!"

LOL

Rolling over

Maddy was sitting in her bouncy seat tonight during dinner and she actually tried to roll over. I was really excited. She dug her heal in, lifted her butt up and tried to turn over. At first, I was cheering her on. Then I realized she was up high on the table... uhhhh not a good idea.

Two girls, two tests, two results

We got our results back late today after we dropped into the doctor's office. The nurse finally called us and said "all was normal". We did get a follow up call from Reagan's doctor regarding her results. He did say "all was normal" but that her sed rate was a 9. Because she was sick, it could explain it. Normal is between 1 and 10. So it's high, but "ok". He was worried about the lymph nodes in her neck. She has multiple pea-sized lumps on both sides of her neck that have been there for a few months.

So I'm to watch them daily. If they don't improved in a couple weeks to a month, we are on to a specialist to potentially get a biopsy. ugh. Say some prayers. I'm concerned, but doing my best to pray and let it go.

Two girls, two tests

Jim and I got up early today to get both girls to Children's Hospital for tests. Reagan's glands have been swollen, so they wanted to do some blood work. Maddy was going to get some x-rays due to being "breech". They were checking for hip dysplasia.

I told Reagan in the morning, "we're going to get blood drawn today". Jim wanted to find a softer more-subtle way to tell her. I didn't feel there was a way to do it. :) I took Reagan back when they called for her. She sat on my lap. She had no idea what was going to happen. I told the nurse that she didn't understand and she "explained" it. But it wasn't until she got the prick that she totally understood. She was not happy. She cried, but miraculously held still for the nurse. She cried so hard but no screaming. Whew. We got a BUNCH of stickers from Steve the Alligator. That really didn't help much. She did get a cool Bugs Bunny band aid. That didn't help much either.

Jim got the easier thing to handle - Maddy's x-rays. It didn't phase her at all. They did wake her up and she did pee (without the diaper), but that was fairly quick and easy. She seemed unphased when they returned.

The good thing is that we should know the results today. Whew. I can't stand the stress associated with the blood work! :)

Colors

Reagan loves to color. It's amazing how much. Now, I'm sure that all kids love to do this at her age. I'm sure it's nothing special. I just am amazed how obsessed she gets with it. She is very particular about where her colors are (in the basement or in the living room), what paper she uses (she will drag a ream of paper to the basement - hard for a three year old) and where she actually colors.

Today, I gave her a HUGE set of crayola markers. She flipped out when she saw it. I bought her stickers and a bunch of other things but the markers were the only thing that she even cared about. Interesting. She sat me down (I held Maddy) and we colored at the table in the basement for over an hour. She'd keep coloring except I had to pee and Maddy was getting fussy.

Sailing

Tonight, Reagan proved that she is my kid again. We were doing the "bed time routine" and she, of course, didn't want anything to do with it. She was bouncing around her room and jumping from her bed to the floor to her bean bags and back again. Jim and I were doing our best to stay calm and not scream. I finally said "reagan if you don't stop, you're going to smack your face into your bed". Damn if it didn't happen two seconds later. She literally jumped from one bean bag to another and sailed right over the top into the side of her bed - the wooden part!!! Wow!!!

Yes, she cried. Yes it swelled up immediately. Yes she has a bruise already. Ugh!
