Food? What now?

So far, we've tried a bunch of stuff. Rice cereal, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and bananas. Nothing has been too exciting for her except the green beans. She loved those. She scarfed down a whole jar of those. She's not been happy with the sweeter things - sweet potatos, carrots and bananas. Tonight, we tried peaches. Shockingly enough, she liked them. Here's to hoping!

Suzuki recital

Tonight was the dress rehersal for Reagan's first violin recital. She's not interested. She likes to play, but only at home. She did extremely well considering her refusal tonight. She did get up for some of the music, but stayed seated most of the time. When her teacher called her up, she ran up with her violin. She took a bow, she plucked a string, she struck a pose and got real cute. Then she took another bow and bounced all the way back to her seat. I'm a proud mama!

Scary stuff kids

Jim tonight decided to "bust" Reagan getting out of bed and turning on the light in her room. The first try was very successful. He was standing outside of her door when he heard the pitter patter of little feet. Then he saw the light go on. In that next second, he opened the door really fast and yelled "BUSTED" at the top of his lungs. That scared the crap out of Reagan. She stood there shaking and crying because he scared her so much. (so much for having a little fun).

Anyway, so I run upstairs and hand the baby over to Jim. I crawled into bed with Reagan in an attempt to calm her down. Mean daddy she'd say. I was trying so hard not to laugh because, quite frankly, it was funny. I did feel bad though. Eventually she calmed down. It took about five minutes of hard crying before she could just relax from the ordeal.

She finally looked at me and said "daddy's not a good daddy". I said "yes he is" and proceeded to tell her that Daddy was a good daddy and that he was not trying to scare her. After a while, she said "your not a good mommy". I said, "why"? She said "because you laughed too".

Ohhh my poor baby girl. So smart, so cute, so... getting bigger.

picking up stuff

Maddy is getting really coordinated. I love watching her pick up and play with her toys. She's passing things back and forth (depending on the size) more easily. She's totally fascinated by the set of balls my parents gave her. She'll pick them up and play with them for a while. She also started banging on her little piano. So cute. She strikes those keys with a vengence. :)

Easter Sunday fun

We had a great Easter. It was our first year with Jordan sharing the holiday with our family. We had Papa Thomas and Wanda down on Saturday for dinner. Then we had Mimi and Papa up for dinner on Sunday after church. The kids played and ate way too much candy. All in all, it was a wonderful day. Happy Easter everyone.

pick me up mommy

I went to go pick up Maddy from her exersaucer today and she reached up to getting me! Ohhhh Maddy. You are getting so big.
