Maddy loves pears

Daddy is feeding her this morning and he chose pears. Yummmy. We found out that she loves pears. She hasn't been a great eater, but this is a win for us. Yea Maddy. She seems to dance when she likes her food.

I was sitting next to her on one of the bar stools at the counter and she actually popped herself out of her seat to look in my bowl. :)

Just stuff

Maddy is really starting to answer well to her name. She's starting to recognize when someone is talking to her. Sometimes I wonder if it's just the noise she is reacting to, but our home is noisy all the time. She's also gotten very curious about the food we eat. She doesn't always want her awesome food, but LOVES to watch us eat. She will, at times, reach out and grab it.

Tonight, we had steak fajitas and she was all about watching Jordan and me eat it. It was funny. She actually whined once. She did eat her stuff, but she was reluctant. She'll be happy when she can final eat real food. I wonder when she'll get a tooth.

Ms. Curious

Today, we were at the doctor's office and she was cracking me up. She is such a curious baby by nature, but today was even funnier to me. She grabbed my watch, and instead of just shoving it in her mouth, she started to inspect it. It was weird. I really didn't expect that.

When I sat her up on the table at the doctor's office, she instantly went after the paper. She actually thought it was awesome. She grabbed it, shook it, played with it, tried to eat it... and giggled the whole time. I loved watching her play.

Sick baby girl

Oh last night was such a long night. She was stopped up, goopy and poopy. She wouldn't go to sleep at all. Well, she would, just if she was attached to me... literally. I tried to get Jim to take her, but she still cried. She wanted me. Sigh. I was so tired last night. I ended up putting her on me and then propping my body up with pillows. I tried to relax, but it was hard. Eventually I think my body just gave up. I woke up about 4:30 am with her still sucking. :) Nice huh.

I picked her up and then carried her into our room to sleep in the bassinet. She did stay asleep. Thank goodness. She slept in a bit too. I needed her too.

I took her into the doctor this morning to see what was going on. She has a bad cold and diarrhea. That's it. Nothing more. He said to watch her eyes since they were goopy - they could get infected, and make sure she drinks enough. Ok. The one thing I was worried about were her ears - they were great. Whew. We passed that test just fine.

I stayed home with her all day. She slept well for me. We both took a nap in the morning for about an hour. I needed that. Tonight, I watch her sleep in the bassinet again while I sit here and type. Man I love this kid. I need to get some sleep.

FIrst bath in the big girl tub

Tonight, Maddy had an accident in her diaper which caused us to get her straight into the bath. Instead of using the blue tub that fits over the sink, Jim suggested we put her up in the regular tub. I was, of course, nervous. Jim was happy. She did great. I think she really enjoyed it. I got some good pics of her playing with all of Reagan's toys (of course). Reagan came upstairs in the middle of it and she didn't seem too upset with the prospect of Maddy playing with her stuff. She must have been in a sharing mood. :)

Bathtime echos

Tonight we gave Maddy a bath and she discovered "echos". I had given her a cup to play with and when she held it up to her mouth, she squealed. She kept doing it over and over again... we think she liked the noise the cup would make. :)
