Apparently Mango Rocks! I picked up some new organic foods for Maddy to try and she enjoyed mango the best. I usually try to give her a fruit and a dinner at night. She gets frustrated about half way through the dinner jar, so we mix in the fruit. Once I started with the mango, there was no going back. Literally! She refused to eat the dinner and screamed for the mango. If she saw me pick up the container, she'd hush up. I was amazed.
I gave some to Reagan and she liked it too. Yea - new fruit for this house.

Object permanence
Today, we realized that Maddy had hit the "object permanence" milestone. My mom had left her glasses on the table at the restaurant. Maddy, of course, wanted them. She reached for them and my mom immediately picked them up and moved them out of her sight. We thought anyway. She immediately turned around and started looking for them. Guess she's hit that milestone. :)
Daddy's spa
Maddy's got a new bath tub... at least for now. Jim put in a new sink and faucet this weekend. It's huge! One side is considerable larger than the other and much deeper than our original sink. It is the perfect size for a little bath for Maddy. Not only that, the faucet is really high which makes it nice to rinse her hair. He actually leaned her back over the hump in the middle to rinse her hair. She kicked her feet up and just chilled out while he rinsed her hair. Now she's playing with her toys and trying to pull up.
Going out
Jim and I went to the Pinnacle function last night. We took a ride on the Cincinnati Dinner Train through scenic Cincy. The train rode about 10 mph and wobbled back and forth. I discovered pretty quickly that the slow movement messed with my eyes. Odd. I just didn't look out the window. We enjoyed the company and loved the fact that we were out for the evening without the kids.
My parents came up at 5pm to hang out with the kids. When we got home, the living room was littered with toys and mom was asleep in the guest bed upstairs. All was quiet. Dad was sitting down on the couch watching a movie just enjoying the quiet I bet.
They had a great time playing with the kids. I could tell by the living room.

up all night
Maddy woke up last night. Ugh. She never went to sleep in her own bed. It was kinda nice because I like sleeping near her. But, it makes it tough to sleep well. She woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. I held her for a while. Each time I tried to move or put her down, she's stir. So I just held her. By 6am, I was done. I put her down and waited. She didn't want to sleep, but I sure did. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night at all. I hope she sleeps tonight. I think her little cold is keeping her from breathing well. Poor kiddo.

watering the flowers
Today, we bought Reagan a watering can to water the flowers we planted a week ago. She loved it. As soon as we got home, she wanted to fill it with water and start soaking the flowers. I'm not really sure where she got the water from, but she kept coming to the kitchen with a bunch of water in the can. I did figure out eventually that she was getting the water from our tub.
Anyway, she was having a blast getting the water and then dumping it on the plants. At one point, she felt as though she could do it without us. Ha ha. I had to follow her to make sure she didn't just go outside on her own. She was so determined to get all the flowers watered.

should i crawl?
I am really hoping that Maddy will crawl. When we were at my parent's house, we tried to get her into the crawling position. She did fine for a while. Then she'd get frustrated and then start fussing. She can pull herself forward pretty well. She also is starting to pull up some on things. She reaches for hands and other things and then pulls. My mom actually got her to move forward on the blanket today. She'd hold her hands and Maddy would pull herself forward - pulling towards her. It was funny to see.
