LIttle Maddy

She is almost refusing to eat baby food now. I think her school is spoiling her too much with real food. Reagan was so happy to eat whatever we'd give her - I'm not sure what to feed Maddy. I guess I'll be doing some research this weekend to figure out what kind of foods to make for her.

Moving up?

The admin at Reagan's school stopped me this morning to see what we were going to do with Reagan in the fall. Huh? I was told she would not move up. But she said "she's ready and all of her friends are moving up". Oh.

I hadn't thought about it. I figured she'd stay in the same class until kindergarten. Hmmm. So I actually got excited for her. I asked Jim and he said "yep, move her up". So I guess she is.

My little girl is growing up way too fast.

Final field trip for the summer

Today Reagan actually got to ride on a TANK bus. I didn't think it was the big of a deal, but all summer she's been wanting to ride the school bus with the other kids. When I dropped her off at school, she seemed excited. When she got home, she didn't say a word.

Walking and cruising

Maddy almost refuses to be held or be confined in any way. She wants to be down on the floor to move about the house freely. It's funny to watch her go. She'll just start to lean over and try to get down. Since she's started to crawl with her belly up off the floor, she's gotten so much faster. I can't just put her down and walk away. I have to literally watch her to make sure she doesn't get into anything crazy. I wonder when she'll walk.

Aunt Annie's

Mimi took Reagan on her field trip to Aunt Annie's today. Mom picked her up at school a tad late - the bus had already left (early). She met the rest of her class at the pretzel joint and got her into her apron. I had no idea what they were doing, but got this really cool report when I called my mom after lunch today.

Apparently, this place has school trips for kids of all ages. They bring them in, put them in aprons and show them the ropes. They kneed dough, roll it out and make their pretzels. Really? I wish I would have taken her now! I was jealous the second my mom told me that.

Anyway, apparently Reagan was cool with everything until they told her to put her hand in the dough. She wanted nothing to do with it. Ha. My mom made her put her hand in. She got so upset that she didn't dare make her put the second one in. Finally her teacher said to "let her go" and she could get cleaned up. That made her happy.

She did get back into the game when she could roll out the dough and make her own pretzel. She was excited about that. Once that was done, they kids got to grab a slushy and hang out on the sidewalk waiting for their pretzels. She got cinnamon and sugar (of course) and a blue slushy.

She hung out with our neighbor boy quite a bit. I think she's smitten with him. It's cute. It was enough of a "thing" that my mom made special note of it to me today. Awww.

Nursing

Okay. This may be too much, but I have to blog. I miss nursing terribly already. It's only been a day too. Dumb. I thought I didn't have any milk. Turns out I do. I tested my theory after I got done working out and I sent some straight across the room. Hmmm. Should I rethink this? Sigh...

Reagan's finally getting it

She is finally getting the whole violin thing. After two months, she seems pretty adjusted. It's funny, the other teacher never clicked I guess. She learned stuff, but never liked going. This teacher she loves! She always wants to bring stuff and she always wants to impress.

Today I feel like we started to turn the corner a bit. She seemed a little more focused. We struggled with her less. She seemed to want to be there. She actually played and seemed generally interested. She never once uttered the negative words "I don't want to." That right there is a huge thing.

By the tine the lesson was over, she actually hugged her. It was so sweet. Ahhhh. Not only that, but when I realized she had lasted the entire time, I thought I was going to cry.
