Jack's First Birthday
Today was Jacks’ first birthday party. It was a lot of fun. The babies did really well. Jack was a total trooper. He was up and active the entire time. (We heard later that he slept from about 6pm on Saturday to 730 am on Sunday – guess he was tired). Reagan did well. Once she got over the new situation, she settled down and just did fine. We were able to borrow Jack’s room for a while to let her nap. Jack got a ton of cool stuff. I’ll be bugging Christy later to figure out which toys are good.
Eating with mommy
Today I tried an experiment. I put Reagan’s food on her tray so she could play with it. I know, I know. That probably shocks most of you that I would do that. But it was fun. She didn’t really seem to mind being dirty and I was able to feed her more food that way. She would put her hands in it and just look at me like “are you sure?”. So cute. She’d rub her fingers together, then her hands and then just smear the tray. He heee.
Bath on the "toddler" side
Oh my gosh – her bath was really fun today. I gave her a bath while Jim was gone in the “toddler” side. It was my first experience doing that. As soon as I put her in, she figured out that she could kick much better from that position. She kicked and splashed and giggled and just carried on. She got me completely soaked. I only wish I could have taken a film of it. I just couldn’t chance not having my hands on her. After she was done kicking, she started reaching for everything from the faucet handle to the soap bottles. She is just getting so much more active. I really have to watch everything now.

Standing for Daddy
I’m standing I’m standing. Ever since she got into her Jumparoo and Exersaucer, she’s been much more interested in straightening her legs to stand. Jim got her to stand up next to the coffee table for a brief moment today. I am sure we’ll be starting to encourage that much more often now.
She Cried?
She actually cried today. It was weird. She just doesn’t ever do that. Cry? What’s that. She’ll fuss if she’s tired or hungry. But what she did was an actual cry. I felt so bad for her because I didn’t have a clue what she needed. I just held her and rocked her until she calmed down. Poor sweetie!
Taking a walk
We went for a walk this morning for the first time in a while. Between the rain and my ankle, we’ve been stuck around the house and yard. We walked by tons of flowers and other green stuff (including weeds) and stopped to smell everything. She cooed at some of the flowers we saw, but only if they had brightly colored petals. She really enjoys being outside.
