Day three after shots is just fine. She woke up at 530am and took three naps today. Thank goodness. She ate well and seems to be back to normal. She is chewing quite a bit more the last few days. The doctor did say that we should expect some teeth pretty soon – I’m waiting anxiously!
As she get older, she is getting much easier to just move from place to place. I enjoy taking her out much more since she is so mobile. Today we went to the park to play some tennis with Jordan. I just pulled up a blanket and got out my supply of food for her. We sat and watched Jim and Jordan play tennis while she ate. It was really nice.
She is also very curious today. She is always looking towards any sound – especially those she knows.

This should be the last day of her “shot cycle”. She didn’t sleep again last night and only took one short nap today. She was still happy, but was winding down on the hyperness. She should be mostly back to normal tomorrow or Saturday. Either way, she and I had a fun day. She played and played and played. At least she slept until about 9am. I woke up with her a few times in the rocking chair holding her. I think she got up about every two hours, but only to fuss long enough for me to pick her up. Then she’d pass back out. Oh well. I’m a totally mush.
On the even more positive side – because she’s been so overly active the last two days, I have pushed the envelope some more with her. I can get her to stand on the outside of her ExerSaucer now – yes by herself. She holds on and I let go. I think I have a good picture of it. She LOVES to stand. She stands on the couch, she stands next to the coffee table, she stands everywhere if you let her. She doesn’t want to sit or lay down at all… she just wants to stand. I’m going to try her walker again tomorrow to see if she’s better at the walking thing. She also now looks for things that she is missing. She was playing with the remote control and I took it from her and put it down just out of her site. She looked for that for a while. I was surprised. So I put it back where she could see it and she instantly picked it up and started eating it. Go figure.

Rough day
Today was a really rough day. Reagan did not sleep well overnight at all and she did not nap one time once. The day after she gets shots she is usually very alert, hyper and refuses to sleep. Ugh. I did give her some Tylenol, but not soon enough to work. She stayed up all day and she was happy. She played in every toy at least twice. She jumped, watched DVDs, played on the floor, played on the floor with all her toys and the dogs, and whatever else I could do with her. We sat outside, we walked outside, we read books and we played with books. Oh my. I think the only time she got upset was during tummy time and when she was left alone for too long. At least she didn’t cry all day. Now only if she’ll sleep tonight.

6 months doctor’s appointment
Well my little bundle of joy is not so little anymore. She’s 28 inches and 20 pounds. Ouch. Dr. Hsu said she was very healthy and fine. She checked out just fine and quite frankly I was probably not feeding her enough? Really? Have you seen her legs? LOL. Actually, I wasn’t that far off. I was feeding her enough, just in two meals and not three.
So today she got three more shots and another vial of stuff. Ick. She didn’t do as well this time as she had in the past. She was already tired because she refused to nap this morning and she was right at her “lunch” time. So I had two things going against me and THEN she got the shots. Poor thing. She cried so hard… I felt so bad for her. But she was okay once I picked her up again. Oh the way home she passed out. Thank goodness.
Florence Freedom Game
Jim and I went to the Florence Freedom Game with some work collegues. It was $1.00 Margarita and Cheeseburger night. Woo hoo. That $1.00 Margarita was wonderful and worth every penny – literally. It had such a bite to it that I couldn’t tell if it was the tequila or the lime. Nonetheless, I drank it.

The Passing Cars
Whenever we sit outside on the porch, Reagan just goes crazy over the passing cars. She will watch it from the bottom of the hill until it passes our house at the top. If she’s sitting on my lap, she’ll kick and bounce her bottom off my leg. If she’s standing, she will stomp her feet and jump. Today, I watched her catch a bird in flight and then land in our yard. It’s amazing to think that she can track something like that now.
Walk to Daddy
Or the puppet. I think we found something she’ll walk towards – her puppet or her dolly. She likes both at different times so we got both out to see what she would do. She just hops along the floor occasionally “walking” one foot in front of the other. When she takes an unplanned detour, she ends up hitting the wall. But mom or dad is quickly to get her back on the straight path to her toy.
Slept through the night
She slept last night a full night. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself today. I got so much done during her nap time because I didn’t need one. Wow! She slept from 930 pm until 715 am. Thank you baby girl!
Reaching for momma
Today I went to go get her out of her ExerSaucer and she reached up for me. Wow! That is the first time she’s done that in such a noticeable way. If she does it a few times in a row, I’ll believe it wasn’t a fluke.

Blueberries
Well we figured out for real that Reagan really can pick something up the size of a raisin and pass it from one hand to another. According to our week by week book, that is something she should be able to do. I figured she could by everything else she did, but tonight she proved it. Jim had her on his lap after we got done eating dinner and she reached her hand into the bowl of blueberries. She grabbed some, squeezed them, squished them and played with them. The dogs were very happy – she kept dumping them on the floor. We started to give her a blackberry but quickly stopped when we remembered that they stain.
Tub time
Daddy gave me a bath today, can you tell?
Is this why you shouldn’t put toys in the crib?
Well, I went upstairs to get Reagan out of her crib (since she wasn’t sleeping) and what I found was her turned completely sideways and gotten underneath her mirror. Ummm okay. I didn’t know what else to do but take pictures.
Pulling up
She can pull herself up now completely when she grabs my fingers. Uh oh. She’s not rolling over, so I’m not in trouble yet, but we are getting there. She loves to play the “Up Up” Game. When I say that, she just starts smiling and reaches up.
Chasing Reagan (not amy)
I didn’t know that she would find it so funny – Chasing Reagan. Jim wanted baby duty so I would dry off Sydney before she came inside. And I said no. He kept trying to “take the baby” but we were playing “no no, not my baby”. So I started running around the couch and Jim started chasing me. How was I to know it would be such a hit? She giggled so hard! We all three laughed with her.
Sams and the Jeep Carrier
Oh my! She now LOVES the Jeep Carrier – if she is facing out. I put her in that so we could walk around Sams today and she just kicked and buzzed her lips. She laughed and cooed and just went crazy. Wow!
Kicking at stuff
She is a kicker. She kicks her playgym in the car. She kicks all her toys during our floor time. She just kicks everything.

We had a pretty busy day today. Reagan slept until 9am which is really unusual for her. I did too. I went upstairs to wake her up and it was soo cute. She just snuggled right up on my shoulder and just laid there for a while. She kept her eyes closed while I changed her diaper. I was able to workout for two solid hours today – oh my. I loved it. I needed a really good workout without having to worry about if she was going to wake up. After Reagan woke up from her nap, I got her in the car and went shopping with Grammy. She loves the mall. She loves to watch everything that goes by and loves to grab at stuff. It’s just so fun to watch her interact with her world. Everything is so new to her everyday. It’s just neat to see it again with her.
