Well tonight I'm writing from Dauphin Island, Alabama (or Mobile as I call it). My brother and his family run a Baptist Resort Ministry on a barrier island just off the cost of Alabama. It is peaceful and beautiful and I absolutely love it here.
He's got three great kids and a wonderful wife that I have dubbed "super mom". Everything just gets simpler here. There's just not a lot to do but hang out and enjoy each other.
Reagan did great on the flight down here. Mom and Dad were both on the first flight with me and because they missed their connecting flight, they ended up traveling the rest of the way down with me as well. The first leg of the trip, Reagan slept. She did wonderful. She didn't have any trouble with the flight or the ear thing. The second leg of the trip she was quite tired but just wouldn't sleep. We had some entertaining to do, but she was really very easy. There was one baby on the plane that obviously had trouble with her ears. I felt really bad for her.
Reagan seemed to instinctively suck on her pacifier on the way up and down both and had no trouble at all.
Once we got to town, the Schansbergs greeted us at the end of the walkway. The kids were all over Reagan and she did great. I think the only time she cried today was when I woke her up - does that count?
The girls were so cute with her - she had a hard time with it a few times, but quietly played on with a nudge or two. I know it was out of excitement so I just didn't care. I thought it was sweet that they were so excited to be with her. John was just a doll. He did great too. Reagan definetly is used to a quieter existence than what is here. But it is neat and will be neat to watch how she changes some this weekend.

Throwing up in my hand
Ok I've been grossed out by poop and other things, but this was ridiculous. Tonight, after the DI Schansbergs picked us up at the Mobile airport, we went to O'Charleys for dinner. I order my typical chicken and boring veggies thinking that I could get Reagan to eat a little of it. We've started feeding her some table food to get her used to it, but not a whole bunch.
Anyway, towards the end of her meal, I mushed up some plain baked potato and gave it to her. It didn't really work out for her at all. It was way too dry (I guess) and she started to choke on it some. You could tell she was really struggling to swallow it and started the gag reflex thing.
I knew in an instant that she was going to vomit. I didn't know what else to do, so I just stuck my hand underneath her mouth. I obviously did not think that through at all because she did puke RIGHT IN MY HAND! It was just solid enough that it didn't ooze over onto her outfit or even between my fingers. Nice huh?
I dumped the contents of my hand into the empty salad bowl on the table and sat there in amazement that I even did that and that I didn't hurl myself.

Therapy for me
Today was my first day of therapy. I finally gave up with my ankle problem and went to the doctor. I have achilles tendonitis pretty bad - acute. I've been dealing with it on and off for about 4 years. I know - I'm stubborn.
Just a little background, I went to the doctor on Monday and was ok with the doctor. He was good and I like him. He pushed on my tendon and I jumped off the table. That was about it. That and some xrays indicated a pretty serious case of A.L. Oh well. At least I was not at risk for rupturing my tendon which was my biggest concern.
So back to today. I went to the therapy session and they used a gel with cortisone in it. The PT person pushed on my tendon and I jumped through the roof. They used the coritsone stuff with the ultrasound machine and my ankle felt the best it had in over four years. Wow that stuff rocks.

9 month pictures

She did great. I picked her up from LRS today about 5pm and she had the perfect day for me to take her to pictures. She ate well, she napped well and she was in the perfect mood for pictures. Yes she did great and was way too cute to stick to the $10 package. That only means that my family and friends will be getting even more pictures of Reagan. he heee. Check out the pics!

Good day
Today was a fun day. Work was "interesting" - that is all I'm saying. Those of you that know me will completely understand what I mean.
Reagan was doing great. She had a good day at school. She ate well, slept and was generally in a good mood most the day. I got a great report from LRS. I was so happy to hear that. We've been struggling for so long with a cold/infection that it was such a relieft to hear she had a good day.
Jordan didn't have soccer. It rained all day here and the fields were too soggy to practice. So we were able to enjoy the night in a simple way. Jim cooked dinner and I played with the baby and Jordan.
So without a lot to say, we all had a good day.

I miss her
Today I really didn't see my little Reagan very much. I woke up late for work and had to hurry out the door which meant I didn't see her this morning. And tonight, Jim and I ran an errand (instead of karate) which meant I didn't see her much in the evening.
Jim took her and picked her up from LRS today. She did really well. She seems to be getting her appetite back and seems to be in a better mood. She is still not 100% yet, but she is getting there.
She is a kissing fool though. She's voluntarily kissing now and loves to clap. Tonight, Grampy took Reagan out to the porch (as he always does) and just held her. They love just looking out and watching things as they pass. It's cute they already have "their thing".

She's got a tooth
Yea! It's time to celebrate. Reagan is getting her first tooth. It's the bottom right one and it's sharp.
