Bakkkumm bakumm bakkkum

We have no idea what Bakum means, but she says it all the time. It's almost like it is her comfort word. Hmmm? Any ideas?

Back-mmmmm is what is sounds like.

Cathy and the minivan

We had the day planned. Get in the car, go to the mall and shop, go grocery shopping and then go to the Festival of Lights. Yea.

Nope.

I mentioned to Jim that I wanted to test drive a Sienna because I was starting to get frustrated with the whole space thing in my car and he made a b-line to Toyota. Wow. He said, if you want one, I'll get you one.

For those of you that don't know, Jim has threatened me with a mini-van since we got married. I said from Day One - no way in hell would I ever drive one. Hmmm. Well, I guess when you get as frustrated as me, you start thinking about it.

Anyway, I got in. Jordan came along and we took off. Let me tell you - space really is the final frontier. It was HUGE! I was amazed at how big it was. But it was comfy. I looked back and Jordan and she was smiling ear to ear. She said "this is awesome" I have so much room. Ugh. My heart sank a little because secretly I was really hoping I'd hate it. I didn't. :(

We tooled down the highway and enjoyed the ride. It definetly had a sweet ride and handled really well. I got off at the Mt. Zion exit and waited at the light to get back on. I floored it. Yep, getting onto the highway with a sharp turn, I floored it. Wow! It's cool.

It's HUGE, but it's cool.

So if I admit that I actually like it, does that mean I'm a soccer mom? Crap!

Don't stop movin'

Today was an interesting day. I asked permission yesterday to work from home because I had online training to do, physical therapy on my ankle and then the office Christmas party. Busy day. I also wanted to sneak a visit in with my Dad if I could. I hadn't seen him since Tuesday and wanted to see how he was doing after his surgery.

So today started off pretty calm. We all got up about 630am, including Reagan. Jim took Jordano over to her friends house in the morning - they were all going to Louisville for their HS State Championship game (football). Once they left, it was just me and Reagan. I got her all bundled up and took her to LRS. Once that was done, I had so much to do in such little time.

I got home and got ready for the day and started my Training class. It is set up with seven five-hour days. So technically, I should be able to finish the training in a week or so. It is for another PMI certification.

Before I could get too far into the training, I had to get bundled up again and take off for PT. Of course, I had written my days down wrong again. :) I was supposed to be there Thursday, but they were kind enough to take me anyway. (Love this group) I went through an hour of really interesting exercises - one of which I flat out could not do. I can no longer do a single-legged calf raise on my bad ankle. I was SHOCKED! WOW. My good leg - no problem. I can do as many as you want probably, but my right leg said "nope not today".

After that, I snuck a visit in with my Dad before going home to work on Training again. Dad is doing fine. He's up and around and looks fantastic. I hope he still rests - sometimes recovery can be tricky. But he is as stubborn as I am (wait it's the other way around) and he has a really high tolerance for pain.

At home, I started my Cheetah Learning training. I actually liked the program and felt like I would learn. And I did. I got a few hours in before I had to get ready for my Christmas party and go get Reagan from LRS.

Once home again with her, Jim and I had to boogie up to Blue Ash for the party. It was nice. I really do like everyone I work with. It is so frustrating to be on the bench - but no one really seems phased about it. Weird. It doesn't matter though. If they are confident, I need to be as well. We had a really nice time at the Christmas party and then scooted on home to relieve Papa Carman from BBSitting. He stayed over an hour past when we said we'd get home. What an angel. :)

Getting really big

Reagan is getting way too big. Have I said that before? I went to pick her up at LRS and she was zonked out. She was sleeping away in a bouncy chair - one made for bigger babies. How sweet. When she is sleeping in those chairs or a swing, she just overflows from all sides. It's hilarious. Most of the babies in the room still fit in the chairs and swings. Reagan really shouldn't be in them, but where else do you put the babies.

Anyway, her legs spill over the sides and so do her arms. He heee. I'm so proud.
I really don't realize how big she is until I stop and really look at her. I can't wait for her 1-year appointment to see where she's at.

Separation anxiety

Ugh. She's got it. Reagan has separation anxiety finally? She has really started to show more signs of not wanted to be without me. Lately I've dropped her off at school and apparently she's had trouble adjusting to it. I find it odd, but apparently it's normal. Some days, according to Amy, it takes her a few hours to calm down and just play. Poor thing.

This morning I could really see it. Since I dropped her late, I was able to play with her at home a little bit. After dropping her off today, I realized that is really not a good thing. I think if I play with her at home, she thinks she's staying home. :( Poor stinker.

So I dropped her off and she was not happy. She crawled over to me when I was leaving. She even had the HUGE crocodile tears going. Ugh. How do you deal with that? I really had a hard time leaving her, but I knew I had to.

Update on Dad

Dad seems to be doing rather well after his surgery on Monday. I haven't been able to go over since Tuesday night, but I've stayed in contact via phone. I am glad he's doing so well, I was really worried about him. The bad thing is that this is really the easy part. Just sitting in a chair and recovering really isn't a hard thing to do if you stay on pain meds and rest, it's shouldn't be a big deal. I think once he gets into PT, he will have different experiences. Good thing - he has a high tolerance for pain and as my mom says "he has grit". yep he does.

Just keep him in your prayers. The doctor said it would be a good three or four months before he's recovered and through PT.

More crazy stuff

Reagan is doing so well. I spoke to Amy today and she said that she was walking with their walker thingy, crawling like crazy and just doing all sorts of things. I love watching her do things now like put her balls together, stack things and actually get her shapes into her shape sorter (in the right spot thank you). Jim was playing with Reagan on the floor tonight building towers with the big cardboard box blocks. She LOVES knocking them down. It's so funny. She looks at the tower like she's sizing it up and then makes her move. Swipe! And it all comes down.
