Moving up in size

She's getting bigger. 13 pounds... and we finally graduated to size 2 diapers. Wow!

Mommy is sick

Ugh. I woke up from my quick nap yesterday in a deep freeze. Maddy was so cozy warm and I was cold to the bone. Because I woke up late to get Reagan, I just hopped in the car and took off. I froze the whole way there. I couldn't get warm. When I got home, I decided I was way too cold to wait for Jim to get home - I got right in the shower with both the girls in the bathroom with me.

It didn't help. I was freezing.

The only thing I could think of was I had a fever. No amount of blankets were helping. It was official - I was sick.

Mom and Dad came up to hang out and see the girls. I stayed on the couch covered in blankets. The only thing I did was feed Maddy. Jim brought me some motrin - that helped my fever quite a bit.

This morning, I woke up and felt like a train had run over me. I gave up and decided to go over to Urgent Care. They told me I had a double infection - one that turns from a viral and then turns bacterial. Nice.

Oh well. I'm feeling slightly better tonight. I'm still having to take motrin for my fever. I haven't shaken that yet. I hope to feel better on Sunday.

She's three months old

She's three months old today. It's just amazing how time flies when you are having fun... literally. I love being home with her. I'm busier this time around, but still enjoy her every day.

She is so aware and alive. She's so expressive. She's starting to teethe already - she's been knawing on my fingers and whatever else she can get her hands on. It's cute to watch. Today, she chewed on my knuckle for about 10 minutes. I finally pulled my finger out of her mouth. She didn't sleep much today, but she's in her own bed tonight. Yea!

She's gotten really good at grabbing onto thing on her play mat. She knows when I'm around and when I'm not - she looks for me. She doesn't get alive unless someone is around. She's beautiful, perfect and such a blessing to have.

I think the neatest thing she does is hold on to me. Reagan never did. Maddy holds onto my chest when she's nursing. She holds on when she's on my shoulder or hip. She holds onto her bottle when she's eating from that. It is just awesome. She is already a mama's girl - but in a different way. Reagan was clingy, but she would go to other people. Maddy doesn't like strangers too much. She cries real tears if I am not holding her.

So far, the first three months have been awesome. The second three months will be interesting as well. I plan on heading back to work and sending her to day care (sigh...). I will miss her terribly, but will enjoy every moment with her until then. She's such a blessing to me.

She turned three months...

And she turned three months today and stopped fitting into her clothes. How does that work? I put her in an outfit and she was too long for it. Sigh... So I tried something else, again too small.

The only things I have that fit her are the two piece outfits. She's just too long for the 3 month one piece outfits. How funny is that?

she loves to sing

Reagan has been learning more and more songs at school. Each night, she has come home with a different children's song learned. Yesterday it was Old MacDonald, the day before was .... and today was the teapot song. She gets mad of you try to sing with her
She wants to do it by herself. I love it.

I need sleep

For the last few nights, Maddy's schedule has been messed up. She's been fighting sleep and staying up until 11:00 pm. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but she hasn't been taking naps during the day either unless she's in the car. That leaves me very tired and cranky. Sigh.

Last night was the third night in a row and third day of it all. I was so tired last night I couldn't even handle her crying. I made Jim do it by flat out refusing. I just couldn't even keep my eyes open - it was ridiculous.

This morning, she sleeps. She's in her carrier. Ahhh. But it is time to get her up and feed her and play. :)

Reagan's three year appointment

Today, I took Reagan to get her three year old check up. We got to see our favorite doctor. She was shy for a bit, but warmed up pretty quickly. She was in his lap by the end of the appointment. She's 39" tall and 33.6 pounds. 87 and 75th percentiles. Tall girl.

She did great up until the shot. I warned her about it. Told her it might sting, but she wasn't really ready for a shot. She was brave. But man did she cry a lot. As we were leaving, the doctor said "goodbye Reagan". She tucked her head down and just walked on. Poor thing. She told me later that he hurt her feelings. (I thought it was sweet).

The interesting thing was our evening with her. She was 100 mph for a while and then got really grumpy. Hmmm. She was so grumpy and fussy at dinner, I just said "get down and go play if you won't eat." She did, but she wanted us to join her. When she didn't get her way, she cried and fussed. Then she fell silent. Of course, we had Maddy so we didn't pay too much attention to it all.

I got up to clear the table about 6:15 pm and she was asleep on the floor next to the TV. Totally zonked out. Jim moved her to the couch - that didn't phase her. We let her sleep until about 9:00 pm. We woke her up to take her meds and go back to bed. She whined some, but really didn't argue much. Once we got upstairs, she was putting herself in bed.

WOW!
