Jospeh's birthday and roller skates

Today, we all drove down to help Joseph celebrate his 8th birthday. It was at the local roller rink. I had told Reagan all about it and she didn't really seem to excited or against it. We got there and it was a mad rush to eat cake and ice cream and then out to the skate floor.

I gave Maddy to my parents and I escorted Reagan over to get on her first pair of roller skates. Size 9 please! We put them on and she stood up like she had worn them before. I was amazed. Where did my klutzy daughter go? She was confident and ready to go. We went around the rink and about half way she finally convinced me to let go. She did great. She held onto the rail. She even navigated on and off the rink to go see the arcade games that were littered around the rink side.

After a while, she grew tired. But through the event, she went around with the help of several others - Zack and Tom, Mom, Dad, Eric. It was amazing. Each time, she just skated around like it was not a big deal. Each time she left her skating partner, she smiled and waved. So cute.

Our last time around, she decided she was done. She actually crawled through the rail and got up into one of the arcade driving games. So impressed. I am sure that the wheels on those skates don't turn the same way the adult versions do, but still!!
