Florence Walgreens sux

Ok here's an update on the Rx saga...

I called the Florence 24-hour Walgreens at 900pm to check to see if the prescription was reaady. I was on hold for over 20 minutes before I got to talk to anyone. When Jason answered the phone, there was no apology for the wait nothing. Then he had the nerve to say the Rx is "not in the system".

WHAT!!! You're Freaking KIDDING ME! So he puts me back on hold for another 8 minutes and then gets back on the phone and says "it will be ready in about 30 minutes". OH MY GOSH! I'm going to go balistic.

So I called back to talk to the manager at 930pm. She just flat out didn't care! So now I'm calling Walgreens corporate. I'm pissed and sick and tired of the crappy service and attitudes from that freakin' store! She seemed to get a bit nervous when I asked for her last name. And when I asked for Jason's last name, she said "I don't know". Of course, at that point, I was so irritated that I actually said "what, you mean you are the store manager and you don't know your employee's names? Are you kidding me?" Oops. But she quickly came up with his name.

And another update at 1030pm
So Jim calls me and says "guess what, it's not ready yet". I about hit the roof. So we have been told four different times, we gave them extra time and it STILL WASN'T READY! He had to wait another 10 minutes before it was ready for him to pick up. I personally think that is absolutely ridiculous. If they are that slammed (as they say), then they should ramp up for it. They know they get busy after hours and they should staff for it.

Still sick

Reagan went to the doctor on Tuesday for what we were hoping was a cold. She had been grumpy at school both Monday and Tuesday and not sleeping well at all. It turned out that she had another double ear infection. The last one she had was at the end of August or early September.

So they gave her some meds and sent us on our way. Bummer.

Well today, Saturday, she had a fever of 102.4 and by the time we got to Biggs, she had a rash all over. It scared me enough that we called the doctor. I started to wonder if she might be allergic to Amoxicillin. Needless to say, the doctor called us back and gave us another antibiotic.

Now we're waiting on the Walgreens in Florence to answer the damn phone so I can find ot if her medicine is ready. I've been on hold for over 15 minutes so far and I'm getting irritated. I hate this Walgreens - their customer service is horrific and their attitude towards it is even worse. Unfortunately it's the only 24-hour pharmacy around here.

She said "Jordan"

She actually said Jordan today. The three of us were sitting at the table eating breakfast and Reagan reached over to pat me and said "mama". Then she looked at Jordan and reached to pat her and said "Joodaaa". Wow!

Achilles update

So today was my first day on a new gig. I started working downtown, which meant a great deal of walking just to get to the building. I did ok - I walked slow everywhere I could. They were really reasonable about letting me put my foot up in the air and rest it on the chairs in the room. At one point in the day, my leg actually got numb. I had to get up and walk it off. I was pretty sore by 200 pm, but held out until 500 pm. By the time I got home, I was done. I iced it down three times in two hours. Whew. Thank goodness for ice packs.

I gotta walk

Reagan LOVES to walk - everywhere. We went out to dinner tonight and she did everything in her power to get down and walk across the parking lot. She gets so excited too - she starts to hop and giggle. Goofy kid.

Sick for the third time

So we got a call from LRS today asking us to come get Ms. Reagan. We had thought she wasn't feeling great, but were hoping it was just teething. I did think on and off that she might have never gotten rid of her sinus infection from the beginning of February. Boy was I right. :) Jim took her to the doctor today and she has a double ear infection - the second time since she started daycare. Not too bad, I thought. She's been on three antibiotics, but I don't think she ever got over the last one.

But this is what I thought was weird - the doctor brought up tubes for her. WHAT!? She's hardly ever sick and she's only had two ear infections in 15 months of life. Why the heck would they recommend that? I don't know. But I've talked to parents that have had kids with multiple ear infections in a short period and they didn't even have tubes. So I'm thinking "NO". Hmmmm.

I've also heard the our doctor's office likes to resort to that solution all to quickly. I don't care too much about that, just as long as they don't force anything on me.

Last day of freedom

So today is my last day of freedom for a while. It's back to the "grind". I got a new gig downtown that I'm excited about. I'm a tad leary to walk downtown on a crutch, but I'll have to get over that pretty fast. So no more luxury of going to work at 900am and leaving at 400pm. Oh well.

I am grateful that I was able to "gently recover" from my surgery, but that is over now. :)
